Overview

Jon Bon Jovi has never been reluctant to embrace stardom -- in fact, as the title of this expansive archival offering indicates, he positively revels in it -- but he's also never been shy about giving the people what they want. That's the vibe that permeates this for-the-fans box set, which is packed to the gills with rarities and unreleased offerings that span the Jersey band's entire career. The uniformly high quality of the tunes spread across the four discs point to some serious quality control on Bon Jovi's part: Virtually all the songs compiled herein could've stormed the charts at the band's popular peak, notably the stinging "Why Aren't You Dead," which ups the "You Give Love a Bad Name" ante on the kiss-off front. On the other hand, "Garageland," which bops along on something of a J. Geils groove, attests to the degree they maintained the bar-band concern with keeping the folks on their feet. As the set progresses, it's easy to follow the maturing process, particularly in the leader's lyrical stance -- take "Rich Man Livin' in a Poor Man's House," on which Mr. Bongiovi gives voice to a working-class guy who feels wealthy due to the love of friends and family. While it's easy to perceive Bon Jovi as a one-man show -- the band name might have something to do with that -- this collection affords the rest of the guys a chance to strut their stuff as well. Drummer Tico Torres takes center stage for the breezy "Only in My Dreams," to which his bandmates append a Spanglish jingle about his prowess, while keyboardist David Bryan does his best Billy Joel impression on "Memphis Lives in Me." Not everything is A-list material -- as with most Bon Jovi recordings, the power ballads are piled on a bit thick -- but considering the fact that the bulk of the set consists of "leftovers," it's a mighty tasty meal, indeed. 100,000,000 Bon Jovi Fans Can't Be Wrong also includes a DVD featuring interviews and behind-the-scenes footage.

All Music Guide - Staff
To commemorate both the band's two-decade mark in the music industry and the selling of 100 million records, Bon Jovi culled together this four-CD/one-DVD collection. An homage to Elvis Presley, both in the title and cover concept (with each group member wearing a gold lame outfit), this set pays tribute to Bon Jovi's fans, many of whose written testimonials are sprinkled throughout the accompanying photo-packed booklet. Jon Bon Jovi also contributes explanations of specific songs and his own thoughts about the band's 20-year journey. Most importantly, the 50 tracks that make up the audio portion reinforce how this New Jersey outfit managed to survive in a fickle market for so long: a wealth of well-written tunes built on a foundation of great hooks, heartfelt sentiment, and well-honed musicianship. There's plenty to sift through here, including demos of much-loved favorites ("Someday I'll Be Saturday Night"), soundtrack contributions ("Edge of a Broken Heart"), and solid international B-sides ("Ordinary People"). Most impressive is the above-average amount of previously unreleased fare (including lead-vocal performances from each bandmember). The DVD is filled with rare archival material, including interviews and behind-the-scenes footage, making the set essential for Bon Jovi's millions of fans.

Although they both hail from New Jersey, Bon Jovi is no Boss. Springsteen and the E Street Band have delivered classic albums and singles. And their live act is second to none, so let's stop the comparisons. One need be a real hard core BJ fan in order to enjoy this new release. It's really not horrible, but when you start comparing to the Boss, I guess you get what you ask for.

So many box sets out there are a compilation of greatest hits with a few new songs, remakes, etc thrown in. Not the cast with 100,000,000 Fans Can't Be Wrong!! Bon Jovi took their 20 years/100,000,000 albums sold mark to the highest level possible!!! A tried and true Bon Jovi fan will be in heaven...this is like getting 4 new albums AND a dvd all at once! Plus the Fan Testimonials and pictures included in the booklet are fantastic!! I've been a Bon Jovi fan since Runaway and this box set has me hoping for ANOTHER 20 years Rock on Bon Jovi!!!

I think it’s safe to say that most Slayer fans name their Reign in Blood album as their best album to date…including me. So when I found out that they were releasing a DVD featuring the Reign in Blood album’s tracks…I was all over it. The DVD is siiiiiick…..awesome set list, flawlessly played, short and sweet interview with the band, and a killer finale. So if you’ve checked them out in concert but didn’t get to see the raining blood….then it’s right here….and if you did get to catch this finale, now you’ve got it on video. I hadn’t picked up tickets to see them on their current Jagermeister tour….but I got so pumped by the DVD, so I got myself some bad seats, but I’m going. I recommend this DVD to all metal and slayer fans.

I have been a fan of Bon Jovi all my life, so naturally I was psyched to learn I'd be getting a box set with 4 cd's of previously unreleased tracks!! That's 4 times the excitement of a new cd!! The disks show the variety of styles Bon Jovi has tried out over the years, and if you know their music very well, you can actually pinpoint the time period during which each song was written. I'd definitely recommend this set. Bon Jovi is such a talented group of individuals. Even if you don't like all of their music, you've gotta admit they're supertalented. I like that each of the band members gets their chance to shine and Jon doesn't completely soak up all the spotlight although I do adore him!! My favorite songs are "Miss Fourth of July", "Temptation", "River Runs Dry", "Real Life", "Outlaws of Love", and many more...Enjoy it!

This is the best box set ever! I was under the impression that it was just Bon Jovi greatest hits. I had no idea. I was happy to see all my favorite songs in the set, but there were a few songs that I totally forgot about until I heard it. It’s so fun to listen to the whole album; it defiantly brought back some memories. The box set also includes this amazing photo album with letters and pictures of the whole band. Some of their outfits and hair from the 80’s was totally rad! 5 cds of classic rock! You can’t go wrong. Keep an eye out for all the un-released material. There is so much new music, it’s like you’re getting a whole new Bon Jovi. If you ever liked Bon Jovi, this box set will rock your world.

There's a reason 100,000,000 fans aren't wrong. This compilation gives us Bon Jovi over the years in the creative stage of music production. Demos of the hits and songs that could've been hits. For the true fan, it's a must-have to complete the set.

This CD is awesome! It’s the answer to all my Bon Jovi dreams (well not all of them!) Anyways, this album is incredible. There is such vast diversity thought out the whole album. I really enjoyed the combination of the new un-released material mixed up with the greatest of the Bon Jovi. You can really hear how the band has grown over their years. Their music matures and develops, and this CD is the perfect example. My favorite is “Edge Of A Broken Heart” on the disc 2. It’s classic Bon Jovi, great lyrics, upbeat 80’s rock, everything I love about the band. In my opinion this is the ultimate addition to any Bon Jovi collection.
