I have used this book as gifts to endless numbers of people, all of whom have loved it and treasured it dearly. It has an old world feeling and the collection is a composite of the world's greatest and most significant poetry. One can pick up where ever they wish and open to a page and be lost in their own imagination and feeling. I have yet to find a collection of poetry that has everything. This collection does. It is a book that can easily fit into a purse, backpack, or the side of the car. I take it with me everywhere.

This book is a favorite of mine to give as a gift -- it has long been on my shelf and boasts some of the best poems that I have had the pleasure to read. Enjoy!

A perfect gift. Ageless. It was in the family bookcase as far back as my memory will allow. My brother's and I, and now our children all, have a copy. It's a classic, a perfect introduction to a young mind to acquire an appreciation for the art of poetry. Enjoyed by all ages. Used as a reference or an example of the best of poetry. The Gettsburg Address, Patrick Henry or Longfellow, Shakespeare, Poe, Browning and Millay. I have lived 50 years with this book yet I invariablely come across a poem that I haven't heard. My copy is 'nevermore' than arms reach away.
