As a teacher, I am always looking for that perfect book to give me ideas for crafts as well as inform me of ways to teach my kids. This book did both. Ardley does a wonderful job making science both interesting and fun for all ages. His easy-to-follow instructions for all of his experiments were very inviting, and my kids loved it. Thank you to Neil Ardley for making my job that much easier.

I am a huge fan of DK's clear simple text accompanied by inviting methodical visuals, but this book far exceeded my high expectations. The experiments fall into categories including Air and Gases, Water and Liquids, Growth, and Motion and Machines. Almost all of the experiments can be conducted with materials around the house, with only a few exceptions which may require a quick run to the hardware store. The experiments are unique, fun and clearly represent basic scientific principles. I highly recommend this book to anyone with a child who is a visual or tactile learner.
