Spots, Stripes, and Scales, oh my! Do you want to read a book about animals and camouflage? Do you also like hidden picture pages? Then, 101 Hidden Animals is the perfect book for you! This non-fiction book teaches you about the ways that animals protect themselves by blending into their surroundings. It also describes the way animals use this defense to catch food. For example, the crab spider blends into flowers to catch bugs. The illustrations are beautiful photographs of real animals shown hiding in their habitats. I liked looking for the animals while I read interesting information about each one. I think animal lovers, nature lovers, science teachers and people who like reading about defenses will love this book! This book is full of interesting information and incredible illustrations. My favorite part was looking for the animals. Some were very hard to find, like the flounder! He was very hard to see. I sometimes like to dress up like an animal and try to blend into my surroundings, too. I've dressed up like a praying mantis, a cobra, a cat, and a cheetah. I got some great ideas from this book, like how to blend into the snow by wearing all white, just like the snowshoe hare! I give this book 5 stars (or 500, if I could!).
