102 Dalmatians [Disney]

Editorial Reviews

Barnes & Noble - Deborah Orr
After seeing the big shaggy film event that is 102 Dalmatians -- Disney's 2000 sequel to live-action 101 Dalmatians, itself a remake of the original 1961 animated film -- this companion CD is perfect for moviegoers who've found that 102 dogs just isn't enough. Songs from the film include Susanne Blakeslee growling the lead on both "Cruella" and the swing revival blast "I'm Gettin' Good at Being Bad." There's also the distinctly '60s R&B-flavored version of the original "Cruella" theme, the amusingly Broadway-tinged "What Can a Bird Do?" as well as the trademark Disney ballad -- big, sweeping strings and the protagonist's lyrical yearnings -- sung by Lauren Christy on...

Songs from the film include Susanne Blakeslee growling the lead on both "Cruella" and the swing revival blast "I'm Gettin' Good at Being Bad." There's also the distinctly '60s R&B-flavored version of the original "Cruella" theme, the amusingly Broadway-tinged "What Can a Bird Do?" as well as the trademark Disney ballad -- big, sweeping strings and the protagonist's lyrical yearnings -- sung by Lauren Christy on "My Spot in the World." This album is a mongrel's delight, style-wise, ranging from the jazzy horns and gruff vocals of "The Language of Dogs," to yet another rap/funk reworking of George Clinton's "Atomic Dog" "Digga Digga Dog", as well as Chic's disco classic "Le Freak" updated as "So Fabulous, So Fierce," and the teen-pop of Nobody's Angel and Myra covering Paul Anka's sugary "Puppy Love". Plus, another Disney doggie pokes its nose under the fence with the vintage "Bella Notte" from Lady and the Tramp, completing an album that's as entertaining as the film itself.
All Music Guide - Heather Phares
102 Dalmatians celebrates the return of Cruella De Vil and the cutest throng of spotted puppies ever with ten songs ranging from "Atomic Dog" and George Thorogood and the Destroyers' "Bad to the Bone" to Lady and the Tramp's "Bella Notte." Myra's "Puppy Love" and original songs like "My Spot in the World" and "I'm Getting Good at Being Bad" round out this fun musical souvenir from 102 Dalmatians.

    Great Music!

I've read the book and I've lisetened to the music! Now all I have to do is wait 2 more days to see the movie! I can't wait another minute!
