Jeffrey S. Thompson¿s writing is honest and sincere. 12,000 Miles is an very engaging book. If you¿re even thinking about buying it, just do it. Even if you¿re not thinking about buying it, buy it anyway you¿ll be glad that you did.
This novel had an edgy appeal to it that so many others fall short of delivering. I found myself immersed in the book from beginning to end. I was simply expecting a romance novel, but I was wrong. Romance is one of many facets of this story. It reminded me of how odd life can be and how our journey through it, no matter how many miles, is never simple or predictable. I'm generally a science fiction fan, but loved 12,000 Miles. It's a wondeful way to cross over to another genre of fiction.
Have you ever waken up in the morning and not wanting to go to work and wondering how and why you are here? Stuck in a deadend job and life is so routine and boring and how much you desperately searching for someone who you can share your love; someone you can talk to... In this book, you will find out how someone just like that broke out of his shell and went out and found his true love. Love is not always spectacular like in the movies but somewhat quiet and sweet. The characters in the stories crossed continents and culture barriers to be with each other; the tenderness of love through learning from each other. From strangers to lovers and ultimately, soulmates.
This is a really intense love story. Not what I was expecting. Well worth the read.
