    Come through the door starved?

I get home from work late most of the time, and want to eat fast!!! This book is just what I needed. I take it to work with me, and at the end of the day, I figure out what I feel like eating, and make a quick stop on the way home for the fresh ingredients. I make enough for lunch the next day, and sometimes bring a 'snack' for my boss who is a low-carber, too. (Dana, you can probably take credit for my recent raise!!!) The best things about this book are 1) that it has a ton of great innovative recipes, and 2) reading them seems to suggest other creative ideas to whip up as well. These are not just recipes for 'low-carbers,' but a wonderful collection for anyone who is interested in fresh, delicious, and easily-prepared meals.

    Really tasty recipes

I've owned this book since it was released, and made a number of great recipes from it. Last night I made yet another delish dish - the asian peanut sauce - and I have the accompanying chicken marinating in the fridge for a party tonight. Yes - I can take a recipe from any of Dana's books and prepare it for the first time for company. That's how much I trust her ;)

    Fast Food!

The recipes in this cookbook are quick. The slow-cooker section is great. This cookbook is a must for any low-carb dieter.

    The Variety I Hoped For

The challenge with low-carb eating for me is getting variety with menu planning. I like this cookbook because it offers plenty of recipes to keep me from getting bored with a low-carb diet and are quick and easy to make.

My favorite section is the one on omelets because although one can have eggs any time of day, I still want them for breakfast and there are lots of creative recipes to try. My favorite so far is the Cottage Egg Scramble, a nice cheesy omlete with veggies (I went half and half with whole eggs and egg whites instead of all whole eggs and substituted low-fat cheese). Another recipe I liked was Chicken Skillet Roma with chicken, peppers, onions, olives, sauce, and parmesan cheese. With summer coming and the promise of fresh vegetables, I am looking forward to trying some of the main dish salads. Recipe sections include eggs, using tortillas, burgers, poultry, fish, steaks and chops, main dish salads, skillet suppers, slow cooker meals, side dishes, soups, condiments, sauces, dressings and seasonings; and desserts.

Whether one can really make any recipe in this book in 15 minutes, I can't say but it does seem that they are all simple and quick compared to meals that require more detailed preparation, and seem to use ingredients I can find at my local grocery store. I would have liked to see color photos, something I always appreciate in a cookbook but this one has no photos at all and is more like a trade paperback. Still, the recipes give the variety I am looking for so it is one I will use and can recommend. It is also easy to use with my carb-loving family because I can just add bread, pasta, rice, or potatoes on the side to round out the meal for them.

Perfect Book for Fast Preparation of Low Carb

This is a neat book that has lots of great recipes for meals and things like dipping sauce or salad dressing. The meals are designed to be prepared in 15 minutes, which is great for staying on a low carb plan without too much cooking work. A very useful book! Check out 'Effortless Wellbeing: the Missing Ingredients for Authentic Wellness' to help you with doing better in wellness as you diet or make any life improvements. Highly recommended!

Why cant i change the font on this book?

Unlike other nook books, i can't seem to change the font on this book. I have only begun to read it, but it is hard to read because i cant make it bigger to see. I havent even begun to try out the recipes. I cannot comment on the quality of the actual book. But if you need to change the font to see, dont get this book. There are certain expectations I think every nook book should have. The ability to change the font should be standard in all nook books.

15 Minute meals for busy families

I have tried many of the recipes in this book. Easy to follow, Creative. Certainly not boring. Some recipe items are not easily attained, but health food store employees generally are helpful with substitutions. This book has made the conversion to healthier eating simple and tasty.
