About the Author

Jennie Hall was a was born in 1875 and died in 1921. She was a teacher in Chicago at the beginning of the last century. She wrote a number of history books for children. In addition to Viking Tales, she authored Buried Cities, Men of Old Greece, Four Old Greeks, The Story of Chicago, and Our Ancestors in Europe, An Introduction to American History. However, she is most noted for her travel memoirs of the late eighteenth century. She produced exciting narratives and vivid descriptions that have made her very popular among readers in her time period.
