I did it. I bought a Babycakes Cake Pop maker — or, I should say, I got my sweetie to pick one up for me. I love the idea of making little bite-sized cakes for special occasions. Perfect for us and lovely for a not-too-filling dessert after a wonderful cook-out. Cake pops makers make just the right amount and you are not even limited to just cake! Savoury treats and other wildly original recipes are available in the book, which has recipes for all levels of bakers — from cake mixes to scratch recipes. Even gluten-free and vegan recipes! Cake pops have taken the world by storm ever since popular food blogger Bakerella started presenting her amazing confections on a stick. With the cake pop maker (think waffle iron meets ebelskiver) you get delicious rounds of batter that can be decorated and even filled!

This book is fantastic....it's full of great recipes to make cake pops that do not require mixing the cake with cream cheese or frosting...it's just a real little cake pop. And they were so easy to make...I mixed the cake pop batter as per the recipe and spooned tablespoons of batter into the cake pop maker to cook for 5-6 minutes...and then popped the little cakes out...done! So easy! And the book also has several fantastic pictures and instructions sharing many ways to coat and decorate the cake pops...from a simple plain coating with candy melts...as I have done...to more sophisticated designs including swirls and designs for cute little animal faces on sticks. The book furnishes you with so many creative ideas! Cake pops are such a special touch for any celebration...birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers, Christmas...the list could go on! This book gave me a full afternoon of fun making cake pops. But there are a lot more than recipes for cake pops, doughnuts, and glazes in this book. The authors have give us recipes for things like meatballs and crab cake bites to try in the cake pop maker. I cannot wait to try these next!

Easter cake pops. Daisy cake pops. Pancake bites. Champagne Cake Pops. Oh my gosh! No end to the creations you can make with this cookbook. There is even a gluten free and vegan section in the cake pops book. Hear that my gluten-free fans? No secret here that I love my Babycakes machine. It is amazing. So when I was offered one of these 175 Best Babycakes Cake Pop recipe books to review and give away, well I knew we'd be baking some fun cake pops again. So this is my Thursday feature turned review and giveaway post. This book is fabulous. At first when I bought my Babycakes with my points at Sears well I thought that I might make them a few times on my own and just decorate haphazard. But this book by Kathy Moore and Roxanne Wyss has 175 different gorgeous recipes such as Red Velvet cake pops, Daisy Days and even ones that look like people.

Well its a little tool to make these delicious treats on a stick...it retails for around $30.00 and pick up one of those babies and then come home and make some yummy-full cake pops for you and your family and friends! This book I spent really long reading each recipe and little Facts...I ADORE it. It features chapters on cake pop classics, desserts and sweets, glazes, dips and fillings, doughnuts and ebelskivers (traditional Danish pancakes), muffins and biscuits, appetizers, breakfast bites, savory nibbles, booze pops and really great show stoppers recipes that are perfect for your big events/parties/and even gifting ideas with presentation suggestions!! Now we all know how I aspire to be the most beautiful, funny, creative cupcake queen that ever lived. Well I have a cookbook now that takes it one step further! You don't think that is possible?? Clearly you have not heard of the cake pop, nor have you had the pleasure of savoring one whilst drunk at a wedding. Not gonna lie, best table favor idea EVER. This book has been created with the beginner in mind too. The person who has never had a cake pop, a person who loves to create a memorable party. There is a recipe in here for literally EVERY occasion from breakfast to weddings. There are even some savory little bites you can make easily ahead of time for parties that are the perfect portion size! The number one that I need to try for sure is the Rosemary and Goat Cheese Morsel all of you know how much I am into goat cheese these days. Honestly sounds just incredible and I NEED a cake pop maker for sure! In fact I just ran over to Word and threw it into our Christmas list for
2012. I am ensured to have a GREAT list of things we actually want rather than running around guessing what everyone wants/needs. Another amazing part about this cake pop book, there are even recipes for man's best friend. That is right, there are recipes for dog treats people, isn't that the most amazing thing you have ever heard?? This book can honestly do everything and anything and I am completely in love with it, another GREAT pick from Robert Rose. Although it must have been a no brainer for them after seeing the amazing products they managed to present and the GREAT images to go with it. Even better part is that they show you step by step WITH pictures how to decorate them in the EXACT same way, even how to make a bunch of roses, that are actually CAKE. What girl wouldn't love that??!?! I can't think of one and I don't think that I would want to. Definitely take the time to eat...I mean read this book it is sooo worth the buy and calories, I promise!

One of my favourite activities to do with my daughter is to bake. She loves it and I admit that I would much rather bake something with her than play the Princess meets the Prince for the thousandth time. The two of us recently gave the 175 Best Babycakes Cake Pops Recipes cookbook a try with delicious results. As you would expect from the title, the cookbook is extremely comprehensive in terms of recipes. There are basic cake pops, doughnuts, ebelskivers, muffins, savory bites, booze pops, as well as gluten-free and vegan options. There is also a decent written section on decorating ideas and tips, as well as some step-by-step photo instruction in this area. The cake pops in this cookbook are not the cake pops that I have had at parties — the pops made with crumbled cake and frosting. These cake pops are made from wee tiny balls of cooked cake that are then decorated with melted candy, glazed, or left plain. I actually like these better than the cake pops made with smooshed frosting, but it did leave me with a bit of a dilemma since I don't own a Babycakes Cake Pops Maker and each of the recipes within the book are written specifically for this appliance. This brings me to the one area of the book that I thought could be improved. Before I received the book, I didn't realize that the recipes assumed I would have the Babycakes Cake Pops Maker (the back of the book does say the recipes are for the Babycakes Maker). However, my daughter and I still wanted to try the recipes out. Because I have baked so much, I decided that to try the recipes using a mini muffin tin (I have since seen cake pops tins that can be purchased online). The recipes don't advise a cooking time for using a traditional baking method, so with some experimentation, I found that 15 minutes in a 350 degree F oven works perfectly well for all of the recipes that I tried. My daughter and I tried a few recipes and they all worked out great. My family's favourite recipe — Spice Cake Pops with a Caramel Glaze — is below. Funnily enough, it's also one of the simpler recipes to make and requires no special skill to spread the glaze.

A while back I received a review copy of 175 Best Babycakes Cupcake Maker Recipes. The book has recipes developed for the Babycakes Cupcake Maker: bite-sized cupcakes, cheesecakes, mini pies, and more. It is such a great concept that I thought I would do a giveaway for the book and the cupcake maker. It took me a while to find the cupcake maker. When I first started looking, they were sold out everywhere. I don't have space for one more appliance in my kitchen, but if I did I would have one of these. They are great for going on vacation, or for hot days when you just don't want to turn on the oven. I also like that you can make 1/2 the recipe and make one batch of mini cupcakes. If you are thinking this machine is only for cupcakes, think again. The book has recipes for savory recipes such as Jalapeno Cheese Biscuits, Bacon Cheddar Muffins, Curried Chicken Salad Cups, Meat and Veggie Pot Pies. The book even has a section of gluten-free favorites.

Until I received 175 Best Babycakes Cake Pops Maker Recipes cookbook I had no desire to get on the cake pop bandwagon. Then I received a copy of 175 Best Babycakes Cake Pops Maker Recipes and I have to say, now I really want a Babycakes Cake Pop Maker. There numerous savory recipes in the book that will make fabulous appetizers or small snacks which is making me reconsider my whole anti-cake ball stance. In fact, so many of these recipes could be made in mini-muffin pans that I may go ahead and make them without the Babycakes Maker — the difference would be the baking time. Just 5-7 minute so per batch in the maker, so I'd have to do some experimentation if I use a different baking method because the recipes in this book were developed specifically for the Pop Maker.

The cake pop craze is in full swing! Cake pops have become very popular over the past couple of years, with many different designs and recipes available online and in cookbooks. The first time I attempted cake pops, I made them by hand, which turned out to be an extremely long and messy process. Since then, I bought the babycakes cake pop maker and tried a few recipes from 175 Best Babycakes Cake Pops Recipes. This book not only offers a variety of sweet cake pop recipes and decorating tips, but it also provides recipes for savory appetizers, vegan and gluten free cake pops and even a dog treat recipe. After a brief introduction, the authors offer instructions on how to use the cake pop maker. The cake pop maker itself, also comes with a set of instructions, as well as a fork tool for testing and removing pops from the maker, a cooling rack, cake pop sticks and an injector for pops with cream inside. First, I tried the banana nut vegan cake pops, using almond milk in place of regular cow's milk. The pops came out so tasty that I ended up making a second batch. Everyone who tried them really liked them. I didn't use any glaze or frosting on them, so they weren't super sweet, but they still did the trick. I made the olive cheese bites and crab wonton cups before I started my vegan diet, but most of the recipes in the book are easily adapted into a vegan recipe using alternative ingredients. The authors offer a few step-by-step photo instructions on how to insert sticks into the cake pops, how to coat them with chocolate and they also show several different ways to decorate them.

Remember when Charlotte the Great and I made Cake Pops? Oh, was it treacherous. It took us all day and they were no where near the pretty of those on covers of books. I threw in the towel and called it good. I'd experienced cake pops and they weren't for me, until 175 Best Babycakes Cake Pops Maker Recipes arrived at my doorstep. Suddenly the world of cake pops seemed more my style...no gobs of frosting added to a cake crumbed to smithereens! No messy hands and the texture being too much! True to life cake balls made from scratch and delicious. This book has changed everything. The recipes are super easy. So much in fact that I find myself wanting to try them all. I can't believe how few ingredients each recipe requires and the instructions are simple. It's not just cake it's Brownie Pops, Beignets, Red Velvet Cake Pops, Jalapeno Cheese Pocket Bread, Peach Cobbler Balls, Apple Pie Donuts, Lemon Blueberry Ebelskivers, and Buffalo Chicken Balls There's even gluten-free and vegan sections to even those with special dietary needs can celebrate!

Their new cookbook is called 175 Best Babycakes Cake Pop Maker Recipes. It gives tips, tricks, and suggestions to making amazing sweet, savory, and special cake pops with the Babycakes 12 Cake Pop Maker. And while you may be thinking, Do I really need ANOTHER cookbook or ANOTHER appliance? Let me just tell you that both of those thoughts were going through my brain BEFORE I tried it out. (Kathy and Roxanne were nice enough to give me the hookup.) Now, I'm just addicted to making their sour cream doughnuts.... Oh. My. Word. Deliciousness. I. Can. Make. From. Home. And I plan on giving the cookbook and Babycakes maker to all of the summer weddings I'm attending. (So there you go, Sharon.) If you also have the crispy...doughy....yummy....addiction, you really should check out their cookbook and the Cake Pop Maker. The Cake Pop Maker is super easy to use, makes a quality product each time, and the recipes are very easy to make with items you should already have on hand.

I think cake pops are cute and fun, so I was looking forward to reviewing this new cookbook, 175 Best Babycakes Cake Pops Recipes by Kathy Moore and Roxanne Wyss. The recipes in this book were especially created to be used with this cake pop maker, and there are all kinds of fun flavors you can make! The cake pops featured on the cover give you an idea of the many ways you can decorate cake pops. There are more ideas and some colorful photos inside to inspire you, too, along with helpful cake pop-making and decorating instructions. This book shows you how to do basic and not-so-basic things like coating the cake pops, decorating with sprinkles, adding decorative swirls and spirals, triple-dipping or marbleizing the pops, and making simple faces. Some of the yummy-sounding recipes include Caramel Cake Pops,
Cream-Filled Chocolate Cake Pops, Chocolate Truffle Cake Pops, Root Beer Cake Pops, Almond Cream Cake Pops, and Classic Red Velvet Cake Pops. The Babycakes Cake Pop Maker not only makes cake pops — you can also bake doughnuts (or what many of us call donut holes), mini Ebelskivers, and cute little round biscuit and muffin bites! Cake on a stick. Genius. Convenient. And, super SUPER cute! Kathy Moore and Roxanne Wyss, author of 175 Best Babycakes: Cake Pops Recipes, are leading experts in the field and work for a firm that generally sets the standard for innovative recipes and food information. The co-authors followed the trend of cake pops and created this amazing book because cake pops are fun to decorate and serve, and now they're even easy to make with the help of Babycakes Cake Pop Maker. This book is organized and structured with detail, making it easy to find what you what when you want it. But, don't worry, the co-authors give detailed instructions on how to prepare, use, and clean the cake pop maker, as well as a specific ingredient list for the grocery store. They couldn't make it much easier! My favorite part about this cookbook is the decorating tips section, which demonstrates how to add the stick, decorate with sprinkles, add a face and hair to the pop, add rosebuds, or even triple dipping for a rainbow color pop! This would be such a fun Kid's Kitchen activity to do at home with your little ones! Just when you think this book couldn't get better, you'll come across breakfast and appetizer recipes like Filled Breakfast Bites, Pesto Chicken Wonton Bites, or BBQ Cocktail Meatballs. Oh wait, it can get better, because they have Booze Pops. Who are these women? They deserve an award! Wow your friends at your next party with Champagne or Pina Colada Cake Pops. Seriously? Genius! I love Cake Pops! I think they make such an amazing treat and gift you can give out. I was so excited to try out the 175 Best Babycakes Cake Pop Maker Recipes. When I received the cookbook I immediately dove into it and started looking at the fantastic pictures. I was thinking of all the different occasions I could make cake pops. The book has fantastic step by step directions on how to make and decorate cake pops. I really like that the instructions are easy to follow and there are pictures to follow along with. I decided to make the Daisy Days cake pops for the camp hosts that volunteer here at the park. They turned out so cute and I have to say were a lot easier than I thought they would be to make. Here is how they looked when I was done. The cake pops tasted fantastic and were a huge hit at the park. One thing I also liked about this cookbook was all of the recipes are not sweets. They have recipes for breakfast foods, appetizers and more. I really like how wide ranging the recipes were. This is a cookbook I will be using over and over again.
