All Music Guide - Michael Erlewine
The 13 original 1928 recordings of Hurt. Justifiably legendary, with gentle grace and power on these understated vocal and fingerpicking masterpieces. These are the ones to hear, although all Hurt is worth listening to.

    Scratchy Record Transcribed To CD!

I have a Biograph release of this album which I really enjoy. Now that I have some time and a computer I thought I'd make some of those old albums portable by putting them onto CDs. This particular album was so scratchy I thought I'd do better buying the CD. Surprise! Somebody else already put their scratchy album onto CD and this is it! And it's worse than mine. Nobody needs this. Buy a newer recording and add scratches if you want it to sound old.
