There are quite a number of Eddie Condon collections on the market. Released by Giants of Jazz in 1999, this one zeroes in exclusively on recordings made during the period between August 1939 and December 1943, and features Polish-American trumpeter Max Kaminsky and clarinetist Pee Wee Russell. This staunchly traditional jazz combines elements of Dixieland and swing, which was the assumed prerequisite for anyone working with Condon.
