THE MOST AMAZING BARGAIN ON BARNES & NOBLE!!!

I remember that I once purchased the complete Harvard Classics Shelf of Fiction collection at a bookstore in Cambridge for $550!!! And now the ENTIRE SET is available in Nook format for less than the price of The New Yorker! The world has gone mad ... I am now kicking myself as this is the most amazing bargain on the Barnes and Noble store by far.

    Deceptive!

Yes, it says that there are 200 works, but it fails to mention that over 150 of those are Shakespeare sonnets! The rest are novels and short stories (half I've never heard of, and I'm a lover of classic literature). Do NOT buy!

    Hmmm, not so sure...

There's some great stuff in here, but as one reviewer pointed out over 150 are sonnets and poems by Shakespeare so the diversity isn't what I had hoped. The layout is also a problem on mine...although that could be down to B&N's Nook issues (B&N's web content is great but their support of the Nook is ridiculously poor!)

    Awesome addition...but

This is an awesome addition to your library...but you might not be able to read some of the books because it is so tedious to find the books!!! It is like having them stored in the attic; you have them but it is too difficult to go and get them down because there is no label on the box and you'd have to sort through the whole attic to find the one you want!

    Prepare to be Underwhelmed

I am not impressed. Too many of the works here are short stories. Though, yes, there are some great works here, I would not connsider this to be the be-all-end-all that it wants to claim to be. I have found greater satisfaction from other collected works of a given author or samplings from given countries. It is not as complete as I would expect it to be.

    Impossible to navigate

This would be a wonderful bargain. My dad used to have these books at our house. However, it freezes and there is no way to navigate throughout the book. It's just too big for this format.

    HUGE problem with this ebook!

The Table of Contents alone is 185 pages long!! NOT kidding here! Every chapter of every one of the 200 novels, stories & poems is listed, and there is no way to a) change the font size to compress it or b) search through to find out what titles are in this thing!!!

One book can take up three to four pages all by itself for all the darn chapters. I really don't need to have chapters listed!!

I'm hoping I can get a printed table of contents off the web so I can at least find out what works are included in this monster. I've only had enough patience to page down and find 3 titles...

Ugh. I love this collection, but the paragraphs are akward and so difficult to read. My nook freezes and skips pages because the file is so large. I might as well have bought the books from a store!
