Overview

Beloved by a devoted audience, this log and calendar holds a unique appeal for anyone in the ever-increasing runner population, from the exploding number of serious marathoners to purely recreational weekend joggers. John Jerome, respected writer on athletics and outdoor life, again provides us with his sophisticated but accessible monthly essays. He offers practical tips and also broaches broader psychological questions, such as how to get motivated to drag yourself out the door to go running in the middle of January. Interspersed throughout are clever and humorous aphorisms. The calendar's weekly spreads provide ample space for recording personal running statistics, such as time, distance, route, weight, and improvements, and at the back is more space: a cumulative bar graph for recording weekly mileage, a chart for races entered, and another of quick-reference marathon times.

    more from this reviewer

Highly recommended for the serious runner!

I have been buying these daily running logs for 20 years - they are fantastic! Lots of space to log in your daily activities with two pages per week, plus a monthly calendar for each month to make addititional notes. There is a "Race Results" section in the back, as well as pages to chart your monthly mileage.

These make great gifts for your running friends!!! I've been getting mine at B&N for the past 8 years or so....

Sad news about John..now he can run always

A note to/for Marty. Just read the intro for the 2004 log. Sad about your dad. Every week I would read the new quote,it helped me to run for the week. My training and next race (February) will be dedicated for your dad. For in myself is a piece of him. We run on and on...Thanks
