So I'm a not a new mom, it's my second go around. I didn't make baby food with my first child because I didn't realize I could do it myself. So this time around, I was determined to make my own food so I started reading a few cookbooks ahead of time to arm myself for when my new baby arrived. This book changed my life because I didn't know that all the produce I had been buying contained pesticides and chemicals. What an eye-opener! Needless to say, I certainly don't want to give my new baby foods high in pesticides and I don't want to consume them either! I have not gone 100% organic, but I do take highly into consideration the toxic twenty list that the author speaks about and I buy organic whenever possible. My overall awareness about organic food has improved because of this book and the recipes include nothing but wholesome ingredients! Unlike some books where, infant cereal recipes contain store-bought cereal, this book tells you how to grind your own oatmeal and rice cereal into a powder! My baby is 8 months old and I have a deep-freezer full of food. My husband thinks I've gone crazy but he smiles at the budget every month! I printed some of the free labels from the authors website and I'm so proud of my organic baby purees! This book is great, I highly recommend it! I actually bought the book in hardcover and on my nook. So I have it on hand all the time!

Managing the baby's diet now that the bottles are being phased out had been challenging! The grocery store's baby food selections are so limited and some of the bottled meal options smell awful!! Plus, we were very dissatisfied with serving the same old meals. This book is a godsend and totally solves the problem! We can now literally plan meals and it has added a whole new dimension to feedings. Baby is going to love foods and flavors that I don't even eat regularly. What a great way to develop the kid and avoid the picky eater syndrome later when she starts eating solid foods! This book is a permanent fixture to baby's diaper bag! I highly recommend every new mom or dad to add this one to go along with baby! Super easy recipes!!

I really enjoy this book; the author really makes a point to show you that it doesn’t have to be difficult to make your own baby food. Instead she explains that it is a rewarding experience that allows parents to make healthy nutritious food for their babies and toddlers. This book gives you the knowledge that you need to make creative foods with textures and good tastes instead of limiting your child to mass produced baby food. The first few chapters talk about why it is important to feed your child organic food, how to do so affordably, what tools you will need, and more information about healthy foods. Chapter four shows readers how to introduce pureed foods for the six to seventh month old with food recipes such as blushing bananas, simply sweet potato, and pumpkin patch puree. Chapter five introduces semismooth pureed food such as mashed potatoes, pumpkin crème pie (pumpkin, cream fraise, and graham crackers, yum), and quinoa. Chapter six is for babies about 10 to 12 months and introduces them to food with a chunky consistency such as black beans, citrus, strawberries, and rice cakes. The last chapter, introduces new flavors and textures for children 12 months and older. The recipes in this chapter sound delicious and include things such as sweet potato fries, blueberry pancakes, breakfast pizza, and more. I really like that this book gives step by step instructions. Each recipe tells you if it is freezer friendly, if it is instant (not needing cooked), if it contains any superfoods, and if it can be slightly adapted for the rest of the family. I also like the meal plans that the book suggests. They make it easy to plan a variety of meals for your little one. This book has awesome recipes and I recommend it for anyone trying to make your own baby food, whether it is for the first time or you just need some new ideas. I received this book free to review. However, this did not affect my decision about the book. All opinions are 100% honest. I love the recipes in this book and I will continue to make them for my little one.

This is a simple recipe book that helps give new parents guidance on what to feed their babies. The focus of this book is the recipes. Many other baby recipe books seem to focus too much on babies' development and only have a few recipes. This is the opposite. Lots of good recipes according to baby's age. Highly recommended.

This book looks nice and pretty but there are only a few images in it. I really don't like the odd shape of the book because its awkward to hold and read. As for the information in the book, it's ok. The section on storing is not great at all and I am left wondering why there is not more guidance. Some of the recipes were great for my 8 month old but any were not so great when the princess spit it right back at me. I'll file this away or donate it to the library.
