The books are numbered 1 through 24, and, like the peek-a-boo windows on an Advent calendar, are meant to be opened one per day from December 1st through Christmas Eve. Read in sequence, they capture the magic of the first Christmas, from Gabrie'’s visit to Mary (Book 4) to the Three Wise Men gazing at the star (Book 9) to Jesus' birth (Book 24). Each book is one of four different trim sizes and features a gold thread loop so that after it's read, it can be hung on the Christmas tree

    Accurate Telling of Christmas Story

My family purchased the original version of this in 1998. We've wanted to replace it but the cost was prohibitive. We are so glad that is has been reissued. It is an invaluable teaching tool for families and children about the accurate story of Jesus' birth. While scripture references are not included, the text IS scripturally accurate. This aid helps focus attention on the true meaning of Christmas.

    Very good Advent calendar

If you are looking for an advent calendar that is the all about the story of Mary and Joseph and there journey to Bethlehem, this is the one. It's a wonderful representation of the events. It provoked my 2 1/2 year old to ask questions. It is not at all a commercial Santa Claus item. We really enjoyed it and can't wait for next year.

    We LOVED This Advent Calendar!

I bought this advent calendar for my daughters (ages 3.5 yrs and 2 yrs). They both looked forward to reading the story for the day and then took turns hanging the little book on the Christmas tree. Each day's book was about some part of the Nativity story. They were short and easy for the girls to follow. We would discuss the story afterwords and relate it to the other parts of the story we had already read. This was a great tool for teaching my girls about the Nativity and the repetition of talking about it every night was useful in reinforcing what they had learned. I highly recommend this advent calendar and will be looking for more to give as gifts next year!

    What a wonderful Advent calender!

Our 2 daughters loved this Advent calender. It is so much better than the cheap gross chocolate. It gave us an opportunity to discuss Advent every day.

My granddaughter loved taking the daily messages and putting them on her tree. This calendar will be saved for use again.
