Rather, it is an examination of how weapons were developed to meet new requirements, and how their characteristics affected combat. The story of the twentieth century has been shaped by warfare, and the story of warfare itself has been shaped by the weapons in this book.

A combination of Jane's and DK

I enjoyed the book's inclusion of actual close-up photos, along with the addition of not only the arm's details but also its history. The only downside, which is not exactly so, is the absence of specifications for each weapon, as well as more details for a select few, one being the Welrod gun.
