20th Century Masters - The Christmas Collection: The Best of Donna Summer

( 2 )

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Rob Theakston
Originally issued in 1994 as Christmas Spirit, this ten-song holiday collection mixes both traditional and contemporary favorites, and also places Summer in a wide variety of vocal styles from jazz to choral without pigeonholing her in the predictable disco and dance world. This may come as a shock to casual fans, but die-hard fans who have followed Summer throughout her career will find this a pleasant addition to her already versatile career and a nice alternative to predictable holiday music fare.

This did not put me in the holiday spirit. We just lost Ms. Summ

This did not put me in the holiday spirit. We just lost Ms. Summer and I wanted something to commenorate. This was not a good selection. I heard no range, which Donna had. Glad I didn't pay much because it won't be played much. Sorry, Donna.

    A Summer for ALL Seasons!!!!!!

Anyone who ever though Donna was just a Disco Queen, I say buy this CD! This is Summer at her best. Every song here is pretty true to the original classic Christmas Holiday songs. She sings every song with such warmth and heart that it truly makes you feel the spririt of Christmas! My favorites are the original tunes Christmas Spirit & Christmas is Here. White Christmas, I'll Be Home for Christmas and Breath of Heaven are all amazing! Now we have this new issue which is remastered!! You'll be playing this CD every year! Thanks Universal! I say where is Christmas Spirit Vol 2??
