Recently, I read an article about Elvis Costello that mentioned Billy Stewart's rendition of Summertime. This brought back memories from the late 1960's when I was in my undergraduate studies and attended Afro-American parties on campus and on a neighboring military base. Billy Stewart didn't fit the Motown image that was succesfully marketed to the general public. I was fortunate to have been accepted at these parties. Everyone there danced to Billy Stewart. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to all his hits again. Thanks. Was this review helpful? Yes NoThank you for your feedback. Report this reviewThank you, this review has been flagged.
