20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection: The Best of Funk, Vol. 2

Editorial Reviews

All Music Guide - Rob Theakston
Now breaking through to the deeper treasures of the monster that is funk, this second helping of Universal's 20th Century Masters: The Millennium Collection: The Best of Funk, Vol. 2 contains some of the most well-known party starters from the '70s and '80s. Godfather James Brown makes two appearances with "Get Up [I Feel Like Being A] Sex Machine," and with his backing band on "Pass the Peas." Somehow the disc wanders into disco-funk territory with Rose Royce's "Car Wash" and Lipps, Inc.'s "Funkytown," but overall this is a nice party starting sampler sure to fill the living room dancefloors of any house party or get together.
