    Wonderful Ties, Great Book

Unlike some authors, collectors, ect. of other books who spend too much time critiquing other's work, I found this book to be very informative as well as having a vast array of very interresting ties. The author presents a colorful array of patters, fabrics and creates a historical trip through time from tie to tie. Surprisingly, I actually own some of the ties in this book, and being a swing dancer completely enthralled in the 30's & 40's era I know what to look for in fine vintage neckwear as well as my eye for tasteful design and craftmanship and the author caters to both. Unfortunately, a few photos could have been better in rendering an accurate color representation of the ties and their designs. Likewise, the prices may reflect what you would pay for a tie from a 'reasonable' dealer of vintagewear and not the inflated prices being shoveled out to the consumer by pompus retailers who think everything they own is gold,...but other than 2 minor details you will not be disappointed by this book if you have a love for vintage neckties! Very enjoyable!
