- LendMe LendMe™ Learn More
At a young age, we are introduced to the power of makeup. Used in the right way, makeup can transform pale eyelashes into alluring, flirty fringe or create a sensual pout on otherwise thin lips or create a glowing look for cheeks that are less-than vibrant.
In the beginning, we use just a touch of lip gloss and a hint of eye color. But with experience, we become more experimental and play with bold colors on our eyes and get adventurous with wild nail polish. Its one of the many joys of being a girl and getting to play with pretty and playful colors.
As we age, of course, we tend to tone down the shades we use and want a more youthful look. While many women turn to expensive skin creams and surgical enhancements, those who care for their skin well can actually use makeup to create a younger-looking complexion. With a few tips and tricks and the right products and tools, you can master the skills needed to use makeup as a temporary fountain of youth.
In "21 Forever with Makeup," we included many insider secrets that makeup artists know will make their clients look years younger, like properly exfoliating your skin and which type of cleanser will work best. From BB creams to concealers to highlighting and contouring, applying makeup is about much more than simply adding some color to your lips, eyes and cheeks.
With these tips & techniques, you can actually reduce the look of fine lines, make your cheekbones look higher, shrink a wide nose, shape your eyebrows to best frame your face and boost the volume of both your lashes and lips that may have thinned over the years.
And the best part is that you will not look like youve over-done your makeup application. It can still look natural while effectively concealing the years. Youll learn how to choose the right colors for your eyes, cheeks, lips and overall skin tone and youll find out which products work best for your skin type. One you get your new routine down, people will notice that you look more vibrant and youthful, but they wont even be able to figure out why.

My friend gave me the heads up on this EBook. She said it would teach me some basic skills in how to apply makeup as I not skilled at this art at all. Some great tips that I never thought about and lessons on the different types of makeup out there. Like to keep my face super clean as that was the canvas for applying makeup and setting my makeup with powder. That really made my makeup last longer than usual and I bought a pressed powder compact to bring around with me. My face was less oily than usual and I just dabbed when it started to light up again. I also liked that that author writes that each person has different complexions that they need to work with and take care of, so that makeup can be maximized. She shows us a list of different types of makeup for different skin tones and complexions and what works best for each. I am finally going to venture to try a light foundation as I'm aging, and I want something to look natural and not so traditional as seen from the women who look like they are in a time warp, this book helped me make my decision on what is the best for my skin type.
I bought this book for my daughter. I was looking for something that would get her off to a good start. This book is perfect. It starts right out with information about taking care of your skin and what to do and not to do. We both learned a lot. She even got me to try some different foundations and colors. It was a real experience. She is a beautiful girl without makeup, but with the help of this book she is beautiful with make-up too! We enjoy girls day and taking care of our skin together using the hints and information learned in this book.
An excellent book on the basics of skin care and makeup applications for all skin types of older age. There were many great tips on contouring and highlighting as well as appropriate color options for various skin tones and eye colors. I love how she gave instructions for making your own lip exfoliator at home. A great read for those with skin that isn’t 21 years old anymore.
This is a wonderful book for those who are just learning how to use make-up properly. Starting from the beginnings of proper face moisturizing, to forming a great foundation and the appropriate use of color this book will make sure you have all your essentials. This isn’t an overly complex book with difficult steps to follow instead it is more like a simple how-to for the creation of a subtle yet beautiful look.
I am new with make up. I've been watching youtube videos but I just needed something that's more elaborate and thorough. This book provides not only how to do make up but actually how to take care of your skin as well which I find it very helpful. It also teaches what type of products are available out there to better suite your skin type. I learned a lot, as a beginner, on make up with this guide.
This book has a lot of good tips not only about make-up (different types and application techniques) it also explores different ways to clean your skin and keep it toned. I am very pleased with the book. It has given me great tips to follow up on. It is easy to read and does not "push" any certain brands. It just gives good advice. I thought I had been doing everything right but this book has showed me that I have not. I can't wait to start using the tips I got from this book. It is informative and easy to read.
I got this book for my mother as a birthday present, but we both read it together. The first section of the book is about prepping for make-up, i.e. how to get clean, healthy skin, and I tried (and still use) the tips from the book. We both liked the step-by-step instructions because sometimes it is difficult to figure out why a certain wash work for one thing and another does not, and is it my fault or the products? The make-up application steps and tips, which is the rest of the book, are also straight forward, easy, and help a lot. I may be younger than the target age range, but I have problems with dark eye circles, and there is a whole section on make-up tips for that that work great! If you have aging skin, or specific things that you want to fix, this is an excellent book.
This book had everything you need to know about makeup. This book is great for people who do not know much about makeup and want to know more.
As a young-at-heart woman who is undeniably in the "middle aged" bracket, fighting the aging of my face is a topic often on my mind. I got this book mainly because of the tricks and techniques it offered for applying make-up differently that could give me that temporary trip to the fountain of youth mentioned in the book's description. And while the book does give me all the nifty little shading and color tricks and much more for applying youthful looking make-up, the thing I particularly enjoyed about the book was the section on preparing the skin for and the ways to do so. I didn't even think I would need to read that area because after all, I've been cleansing my face for decades now. But the chapter titles caught my eye and I started to read that section as well and was just shocked to realize how little care I am actually giving my face. I got in a rut of easy and quick, but what worked for me when I was young, just doesn't work anymore. Now I am doubly glad I got this very informative book!
Same info that one finds in magazines. No illustrations. Don't bother.
