Editorial Reviews

Library Journal
These pattern books of quick-to-crochet and quick-to-knit projects include a variety of patterns for garments, accessories, and afghans for children and adults. What sets these pattern collections apart is the number of color photographs of finished projects-often four or five of each garment-along with the designer's estimated time to complete each project. Most projects are made with readily available yarns and are suitable for beginning to intermediate crocheters and knitters. Consider for public libraries where demand warrants. Crocheting is easy, fast, and fun!

Just think what you can make in only 24 hours or less of crocheting — a cute little sweater top, a trendy scarf, a hat, a must-have purse — and every one of the projects in this great book.

Crocheting is easy to take up and to put down; it will go with you quite happily to a doctor's appointment, a boring meeting, a child's soccer game. Our patterns are easy, so they don't require your full concentration.

As a crocheter, you will be amazed at how quickly you can create fabulous projects that will have your friends and family begging for their own, just like yours.

Just in case you can't remember how to crochet, or if you are confused about what those abbreviations and symbols mean, spend a little time with our "Refresher Course" starting on page 116. Then you'll be ready to go.

To speed you along, we tell you how much time will be required to finish a project. Don't be dismayed, however, if it takes you longer. It's not a race, and crocheting is time well spent. Whether you crochet for just one hour a day, or for hours at a time, 24 of those precious hours will reward you with a wide variety of creations you'll love.

I would not recommend this book to my friends.I made the headband on page 115,the time was misleading ,and the project did not fit too small.its unrealistic to make someone think they can do some for these project in the time frame stated.

Projects are great and instructions easy, but title is very misleading. Maybe someone who has been crocheting for 50 years could complete these projects in 24 hours, but it took me more than triple the time apiece to complete some projects and I learned to crochet quite some time ago

I am considered a fast crocheter and the wave blanket is NOT a 24 hour project. I have put in at least twice the time they list and I am getting close to the half way point. I don't know where they got their figures but they just aren't realistic.

24-Hour Crochet Projects offers a wide variety of crochet projects ranging from hats to handbags plus household items too. Each project an estimated time to complete the craft. The author, Rita Weiss, says the time estimate is an estimate as crocheting is time well spent. The author has also included a crochet refresher course which goes through the basics. In this chapter you will see illustrations demonstrating crochet stitches and how to weave in yarn ends. Some of the projects you'll find in this book include: Huggable Afghan Red Hot Purse Think Mink (a faux fur head band) Must Have Blouse Hipster Scarf Recommend. Title: 24-Hour Crochet Projects Author: Rita Weiss Published: 3-15-2016 Publisher: Dover Publications Pages: 128 Genre: Crafts & Hobbies Sub Genre: Fashion ISBN: 9780486800325 Reviewer: DelAnne Reviewed For: NetGalley . 24 easy to make crochet projects that can be completed within 24 hours. With scarves, purses, stylish tops, doilies, baby onesie, afghans and more there are more than enough different projects to keep you busy for months. I made the Little Fan Onsie first because it was so cute I could not resist. I paired it with the Baby Dreams afghan. They were adorable. Having no little ones in my family I passed it on to a friend's granddaughter who has a three month old. I thought the Must Have Blouse and Glittering Gold Blouse and Shaw because I liked the pictures and wanted to see to see if they were as pretty as they seem. They were. There are plenty of others I want to try in the future. The instructions are clear and easy to follow. Rita Weiss has given us projects that are completed with ease and quickly. It may not be instantaneous gratification, but it is close enough. My recommendation is a 4 1/2 out of 5. Thank you Ms. Weiss for the hours of pleasure you have given me to look forward to.
