2ge+her: Again

Barnes & Noble - Bill Crandall
What was supposed to be a one-off project is proving to have some serious legs. Assembled for an MTV "mockumentary" earlier this year, 2Gether now have their own TV series on the network. In addition, they've just finished a tour opening for Britney Spears, and 2Gether Again is already the group's second album. In the grand tradition of the Monkees and Spinal Tap, 2Gether are a prefabricated outfit all of its members are actors who play characters sculpted in the image of the pop explosion du jour: the boy band. Like Spinal Tap's hilarious heavy metal sendups, 2Gether's slick pop ably captures the musical spirit of its chosen genre, but the lyrics are sung with tongues...

Like Spinal Tap's hilarious heavy metal sendups, 2Gether's slick pop ably captures the musical spirit of its chosen genre, but the lyrics are sung with tongues planted firmly in cheeks. "Right Where It Counts" bewails something more painful than heartache "Stop kicking me, baby, right where it counts". Conceived on the intersection of Backstreet Blvd. and Slim Shady Lane, "5Gether" is a harmony-laden hip-hoppy bootyshaker that states the boys fun-loving mission, much like the "Theme from the Monkees." But the album's real gem is the ultra-sappy "The Hardest Part of Breaking Up Is Getting Back Your Stuff," which features lines like: "I'd call you up girl, but you took my phone." Who said teen angst can't be funny?
All Music Guide - MacKenzie Wilson
MTV was brashly intelligent when they introduced 2ge+her in February 2000, a humorous spoof five-piece designed to poke fun at the TRL-dominated world of teen pop stars. Six months after the MTV TV movie, 2ge+her relished in their popular take of being a boy band parody and got serious enough to release a real record, 2ge+her: Again. As if "U + Me = Us Calculus" wasn't cheeky enough, the 13-track album is even more wildly amusing. The pop styling is completely imitated, glossy, and shiny like the band's serious counterparts. The clever dance hooks are in place on songs like "The Hardest Part of Breaking Up Is Getting Your Stuff Back" and "Awesum LuvR." The comical aspects, however, are a bit over the top for die-hard fans of N 'Sync and the Backstreet Boys. Perhaps they wouldn't be able to settle down enough to appreciate the spunky wit surrounding 2ge+her's efforts. That's unfortunate, but they weren't old enough to understand Spinal Tap, either.

It's the greatest cd of all time!!!!

This CD rocks! I listen to it everyday. If you want to hear the most beautiful voice ever, listen to Noah Bastian's solo parts in ''Awesum Luvr'', ''Every Minute, Every Hour'', ''You're The Only One That's Real'', and ''Right Where It Counts. I get chills every time I hear his voice.

2GETHER is too hott, so is chad

If you love to hate real boy bands, 2GETHER is a great band for you. This band mixes rap, rock, and pop together, it also mixes some hott guys together, Chad, Jerry, Mickey, Q.T.(RIP), and Doug. This album rules and so does Chad

    2gether 4ever

I'm not a pop music kind of person, but when I saw the 2gether movie, and saw their talents, I literally fell in love with them. I honestly think 2gether is the best boy band out there. They can sing great, even better than Nsync, Backsteet Boys, 98 degrees, etc. Their lyircs are hilarious and it's so catchy, there's no way you can get sick of listening to their music. 2gether is always gonna be 4ever!

    They are five- 2gether

2gether the album was an even funnier album than the first one. The members of the group add humor to the stereotype of all the boy bands such as the Backstreet Boys, 98 Degrees, etc. The new album contained songs that were used for their tv series on MTV. The first album was the soundtrack that was used for their tv movie also on MTV. Some of the things that I look for in a good group is their beat and if it fits in with the vocals. The lyrics must also have to incorporate with the singers¿ vocal abilities. The group 2gether sing songs that are hilarious and are songs that are able to stay in one¿s mind. They are sexy, dreamy, savvy, and are included all in one gigantic package for the listener. If you enjoy listening to funny lyrics sung by an MTV boy band, then I highly recommend you listen to their new cd. This is one solid album
