Library Journal
This is a continuation of the projects found in Browning's Melt & Pour Soapmaking, using commercially available soap bases. This book emphasizes soap made with additives such as essential oils, botanicals, spices, and even chocolate. There are also lovely molded soaps that one would hate to destroy by using. All of these soaps can be made using kitchen equipment, and no lye or animal fat is used in the process. Browning's books are always great additions to public libraries. Excellent Recipes and easy to follow

I found this book to be very informative on M&P soap recipes. I have made many of the recipes contained in this book and I sell the soaps at craft fairs and on my website. Lots of good ideas for the M&P soap crafter.

    Comprehensive

This book was really through in explaining the process of making soap. The only thing I did not like was that it was set up a little confusing. I also thought some of the mixtures were not that great. I think that some of these soaps are a little hard to make. Good information, but a little too much time needs to be involved.

    What I expected...

This is a book for the M&P beginner that needs motivation to get started. There are a few ideas that will act as a springboard for your own imagination. Probably a book you should get at the library or from a friend. I didn't find any new information in the book (not a reference book) and the recipes do require a lot of different molds and scents that would cost a fortune to obtain, IF you wanted to make the exact recipe. I wish there were more pages of 'how to' directions under the designer soaps section and also that there was a larger list of online soap wholesalers (or at least a small listing of exactly where some of the scents were purchased). All and all, a good solid book of recipes, which is just about all I expected.
