31 Days of Faith :: finding joy in your anguish [NOOK Book]

Overview

In September 2011, I committed to write on my blog for 31 days about faith. During those 31 days, I received numerous emails and comments questioning how to have faith. It seems many of us desperately want to have faith and believe God is working things out for our ultimate good. Unfortunately, it seems not all of us are willing to truly give up our earthly control, or know how to do that.

What I’m continuously learning on my journey, and want to share with you, is when we stand in the way of what our Father has planned for us, we become a roadblock for our own ultimate good.

Many of us are walking through trials, suffering, pain, and heartache. Faith doesn’t mean God is going to take all of that away. But faith will {without a doubt} replace anxiety and worrying with peace. Peace that surpasses all human understanding.

Faith will also allow you to face your adversary and be thankful for it. It took me a long time to understand how James could declare:

Consider it pure joy, my brothers,
whenever you face trials of many kinds,
because you know that the testing
of your faith develops perseverance.
James 1:2-3

I believe when we can understand and truly believe that our God is for us, that He’s behind the scenes working things for our ultimate good, it’s at that moment we can claim we have the faith it takes to look at our trials with joy.

Meet the Author

Tracie is a child of God and the mama to four vivacious daughters. She loves photography, travel, chap stick, guacamole, sunshine, crafts, pretty paper, slippers and a warm fire. She’s living with multiple sclerosis. She has her pilot’s license, is a licensed barber, and owned Broadway Paper for 8.5 years. She has six dogs {but wouldn’t consider herself a dog person}, four guinea pigs, two cats, one hedgehog, a water dragon and whatever creature du jour her girls bring home. She also has a slight phobia of escalators.

Tracie believes the Lord is writing a story within her. He’s allowed her challenges and difficulties. But He’s also equipped her with His love and grace. She trusts in Him. She rests in Him. She believes Him.

In 2010, God paired her with a group of committed mothers of daughters to create the MODsquad blog, a community of moms who encourage and inspire other moms to raise daughters with purity, character, and hearts for God.

You can find Tracie blogging at {tsj} photography where she desires to show every reader the power of a living relationship with our Savior. She also shares fun crafts, parties, projects, gifts, and on occasion shares a bit of her crazy. Tracie tweets as @tmstier and has a Facebook page as {tsj} photography.

    A MUST Read!

This book is truly amazing, fulfilling, reflective and simply inspiring. This beautifully written ebook reminded me of a "Coles Notes" version of what I need to understand some of the messages in the Bible. My Faith has been restored or shall I say I've been given some "tools" to not only Believe in God but to Believe God. Thank you Tracie for your guidance, wisdom and sharing the word of our good Lord. God Bless.

In theory it would be a good book, except for it's pretty fictional to faith. Leads one to believe that this is truly practiced daily. Probably practiced more when to one's personal benefit. Very disingenuous. It's a feel good for the writer and perhaps relieves some guilt by putting in print?
