Sheri Amsel (Elizabethtown, NY) has published more than twenty books on nature and environmental topics. Her love of science and the outdoors led to degrees in botany, zoology, and a masters in anatomy and biomedical illustration. Her ongoing work includes advising schools on the development of educational nature trails; writing science programming; and performing habitat, science, and conservation workshops. Her environmental efforts include working with the Nature Conservancy on education and conservation projects; teaching nature observation and journaling for the Adirondack Visitor Interpretive Center (VIC), a science museum in Paul Smiths, NY; and conducting wildlife illustration workshops for the Wildlife Conservation Society.
