Dao De Jing, an epic of return. The Dao that can be explored and walked is the extraordinary Dao. The name that can be named is the extraordinary name. Dao is not a road to follow, but the source before roads began. Names are not mere words, but signs of the ten thousand things. Before heaven and earth, before form and sound, Dao moved in stillness, shaped all, yet claimed nothing. It has no form, no name, yet it is present everywhere. It acts through non-action and leads without striving. This is not a hero's tale, no battles, no conquest. It is a silent song, a return to what is real. In noise, it teaches stillness.
