Easy to use to find and check out books. Works on my phone and my Nook. If your library doesn't show up on the menu, that means that they do not offer the service and haven't purchased content for their customers to check out using 3M. It's a fairly new service, so that may be the case for many libraries.

If your library has purchased this system, then the library will show up in the system Only about 70 libraries have this collection so far, if your library has this, the system works so awesome. So much better than Overdrive! Talk to your library about getting the cloud, then the app will work! It's soo worth it, super great system for eReading from your library

Today I found free apps for this, the 3m cloud library, and the overdrive library. I have a NY state library card, and they appear to support both libraries (as others mentioned a very limited number of libraries are using 3m at this point)
Even if NY had a fraction of the books available on 3m as they have available for overdrive, after trying each I will use overdrive almost exclusively.
Overdrive is more intuitive. I knew what I was doing right away and when you search for titles, it is the same interface as the ebook website when using your nook's web browser.
With 3m I attempted to log in about 5 times before it recognized my card number (your "id" by the way). I thought the interface was strange and the pictures of book covers were chopped off in an odd way. In all honesty, I only spent about 20 minutes using the 3m app and another 20 minutes trying to find out more about it online.
I plan to keep an eye on this app to see if it improves and if the collection grows. I hope to see 3m grow and become more used by libraries. My understanding is that they sought to provide an answer to some of the negative business practices of overdrive - primarily overdrive's contracting with libraries. Libraries pay a huge annual fee to use overdrive (in addition to buying the ebooks) and if their contract ends they run the risk of losing access to their collection (see the case of the Kansas State Library).

As long as your preferred library is in their database, this app performs flawlessly!!! Certainly a lot less hassle than the Quickdrive!

I was so thrilled when we got word that the 3M app for the Nook was available! It is SO much easier now to borrow books!!
If your library doesn't subscribe to 3M, you should ask them about adding it...

This app needs work! I recently got the app and linked it to my library account. I was able to check out a book and was happy with experience at first. It is nice to get library books without having to put them on my computer and transfer. I am very disappointed however that it does not allow the Nook to go into sleep mode while you are reading a book. This is a severe deficiency that has made my battery run down several times. It is a habit to leave my book open because when reading normally on the Nook or using any other app the Nook automatically goes into sleep mode. When I contacted customer service for 3M they gave me no guideance other than to say to close the program. They need to acknowledge that there is a problem and work to fix it. I am also disappointed by the lack of help in navigating the program. I have read other reviews about the books being unavailable when you aren't online. I have not tried to read offline yet, so I can't say how that works, but if that is the case it will be yet another glitch that needs to be corrected. At this point I would not recommend this app, but since our library systems pick the apps and we don't the actual users may not have a choice. :-(

I have a color nook and it was relatively easy to get a library book ready to read on my nook. The librarian is most helpful if you have a problem. Getting used to the process is a big part of the ease in using the system. I will continue to get books from the libray. Thank you.

I am in California and only about 20 or so libraries have signed up to use this service. Maybe in the future I can use it.

SpiritRane: Would be great to use if it had some libraries in our area. Hey Anne Arundel County wake up...so we can use our library on the Nook.

Performance is very slow. Bookmark function does not work. Nook does not auto power down but stays on, not good for battery. Difficult to navigate. No lookup or highlight functions. Library uses it so stuck with it but do not like it.

I have used this app several times now and highly recommend it as a useful tool to get access to newly released book titles. Be aware that your book borrowing time is limited so make sure you have time to read consistently and finish the borrowed book.

The app is very easy to use. However, compared to Overdrive, the seledction if books on this app is rather pitiful.

I love this app so much! I'm writing this at 1 in the morning because ive been reading anna and the french kiss all night. I just finished. The only problem is there arent a ton of books but theres still a lot. Please dont downgrade this app just because your library doesnt have this.
