    My Personal Opinion:
As an intermediate knitter I find this book to be a valuable resource. The patterns can easily be adapted into a variety of projects such; scarves, throws, afghans, or prayer shawls. Unlike other knitting books 400 Knitting Stitches focuses on stitch patterns, rather than project patterns. This format helps you to learn new stitches, practice them, and apply them to your own project patterns. I highly recommend this edition for those who enjoy new stitch patterns as this is the best resource I have encountered.

    400 Knitting Stiches

I had not been knitting for many years, so I found this to be a good
refresher course in both basics and more advanced stitches that I had
    forgotten.
I'm not sure if would be useful for regular knitters, but it was helpful to me for starting to knit again.
I would recommend it for people like us.

    beautiful glossary of stitches

This is a great book especially if you like to play around with new stitch patterns. I was hesitatant to order it at first because of the overall rating, but when I read the low rating it was clear that it was meant to be a high rating and the person just misread the scale (thinking 1 would be the best instead of 5) This is a great gift for a knitter.

A must have book for people that likes to knit.

I got it a s present for a friend. I borrow this book from the library and lend it to my friend, I had to renew it 3 times, that's how much she like it. Like the saying goes... the rest if history.

    Great Knitting Resource

This compendium of stitches is a wonderful resource for knitters who like to try out new things and adapt new stitches to already written patterns. It is clear and colorful and easy to follow. I highly recommend it. The price is reasonable, also.
