    more from this reviewer

This book is a good start, but there is more knowledge that needs to be obtained. Given the target audience, it does a great job.

I thought the book was great for a general understanding of 401(k)'s. It had good anecdotes and information to obtain a tacit knowledge of 401(k)'s. Conversely, the book reiterates a theme of independence and watching out for high fees; but doesn't offer enough inforamtion to procure this strategy. Ulitmately, if you want to have a healthy 401(k), you should read this book, hire a savvy and fairpriced advisor, and understand how your plan works completely. The key to success in retirement is active not passive participation. I would recommend this book wholeheartedly as a first step.
