Overview

Seventeen-year-old Abby Craig died last year. But after breaking through the ice on a frozen mountain lake and having no vital signs for nearly an hour, she somehow came back to life.

But she woke into a world she barely recognizes. She can't see colors, memories have been erased, and her friends all hate her. And then there's Jesse, who she loves, but who refuses to forgive her the one mistake she made long ago.

Just when she thinks it can't get any worse, the visions begin. In them, she sees a faceless serial killer roaming the streets. While the police believe that there have been a lot of accidents in town lately, Abby knows differently. And she soon realizes that it's up to her to find him. But to stop him, she'll have to confront more than just the killer. She'll have to face something else that was lost in those dark waters. The truth.

    Great story

A quick read, about 150 pages. Wonderful characters, great story line. Did not see the ending coming, great twist to the story. Recommed highly!

    What a Book

LOVED this book. The ending is incredible, and you don't see it coming at all. Great characters, and I loved the romance between Jesse and Abby. Amazing all around. I hope there's a second one coming soon.

    Surprise ending!!!

Pretty good book. Limited cast of characters allows some decent development of personalities and relationships. The big letdown for me was how the murderer was able to escape and the unexplained lack of police involvement. Sort of unbelievable. The ending was surprising and makes the book worth reading. This is a good read for all age groups and appropriate as far as language and content. This would make a good movie... a goodBruce Willis movie.....

    Wow!

Great story, great characters, and just enough supernatural to still be believable. A surprise ending that you never see coming. Fantastic!

    A FANTASTIC novel!

44 was just about impossible to put down once I started. From the very beginning, there was an air of mystery that kept me on the edge of my seat. There was always a bit of the story that was just beyond my reach, a piece missing that was integral to Abby's story. Instead of that missing piece being frustrating, it was what kept me thoroughly engrossed to the end of the book.

Abby was a fantastic lead character, amazingly real and fully relatable. She was struggling to find herself after her accident, and while the circumstances were different, her struggles were similar to those we all go through in life. I felt her pain, her frustration, her fears, as if they were my own. Jesse, too, was a great character, and perfectly developed for his role in this story.

Everything in this story worked so well together. The plot of the story and the characters are perfectly balanced, with the suspense woven throughout the story but never overwhelming any of the subplots. When that "ephiphany" moment came, I totally wasn't expecting it and I made an audible noise that caught the attention of everyone around me. I love a suspenseful story that totally throws me and keeps me guessing. I highly recommend this fantastic novel!

    .....

The entire story was amateur. You would think a book about a serial killer would be intense, but not so. Abby has visions of people dying, then just goes about her day at high school, just normal as can be. It feels like the topic was chosen to reel in, then switched to a silly teenager story.

    Who writes like that anymore?

I said, he said, she asked... I was over the book after the first page. The writing was juvenile at best, the same kind of writing technique an elementry school student would use when writing a story.

    Potential

This author has a lot of potential. I really enjoyed the story and look forward to book two. There were times, however, that it felt rushed and amateur. There were times when the writing was really good and times when it needed more maturity. Overall I enjoyed it but I feel it could have been done a little better.lp

    Nice read!

First I thought this book was going to be horrible but I was very wrong. This book is full of surpises and full of death. I love how they make Abby come back alive. This book was a short read about 288 pages long. My friend recommended me this book and so I decided to get it and it was great. I can not belive this was a free book! I think kids ages 10-18 would enjoy this book. I am 11 and I love it. This book is perfect for people who like paranormal things but this book is not about ghosts. I would recommends this to my friend and family. I hope you like this book as much as I did.

    Ending good

This book lacks tone. It's difficult to get through, but the surprise ending makes it worth while. Not reading the sequels though.

Incredible ending, If I would have written this review based on

Incredible ending, If I would have written this review based on the ending I would have given it 5 stars, but I thought the author seemed hurried and went from one subject to the next without much of a leadin, I felt like I was missing a page now and then. However the ending had me sobbing like an idiot..

    Interesting

The transitions weren't so great, it made the writing a little confusing but the overall plot was great and didn't expect that ending which is a nice change lol. If it was edited a little better I'd give it 5 stars but worth the read for free.

    Great read

This book was great. A little suspensful, but not enough to give me nightmares. The main character is easily liked and well developed considering her unique circumstances. I'm expecting the author to develope her more in the next instalment though. The plot was unique with a great twist, although you kinda see it coming. but if you just read and take it in and don't try to play "who done it" I feel for free dollars, despite many parts being rushed and vague, it is a great book. I enjoy the sister-bond and the overall concept. Overall: GREAT BOOK
