From a grammatical standpoint, there were some typos in this book, which I only mention out of honesty, since I gave this book 5 stars. That was the only negative thing I could say about this story. The author expresses herself very well, & gives the reader a look into the personal lives of her family, while keeping the book flowing in an easy to read, hard to put down manner.
When I chose this book to read, it was because I am a mother who had a difficult pregnancy with my first child, my son, & knew what it was like to feel hopelessness & despair. I remembered my own struggles & was drawn to this story. Little did I know that I, a person who is rarely moved to tears, would be so moved during certain passages, that I had to remove my eye make-up due to the mess it made on my face. I was expecting this book to inspire me with this mother's strength as she faced a terrible diagnosis for her unborn son. What I did not expect was to be inspired to take a look at my own heart, my motives, & my relationship with God & to see areas in my own life when I have not waited on & trusted & obeyed His prompting on my heart. This was an eye-opener to this long-time Christian, that has changed the way I will be attempting to live my life.
Every life is a blessing from God - every life......including that of my brother who had Down Syndrome & died just shy of his 46th birthday. As the author & her husband experienced multiple miscarriages & were finally able to rejoice that they would be able to give their two children a little brother, they recceived devastating news about their precious unborn child that changed their lives forever. Their story of spiritual integrity, faith, obedience & gratitude to the Lord, as well as their complete unconditional love for their child, before & after birth, is so inspiring. I hope others will read this book & be prepared to be moved, & to change the way they live their lives - hopefully in complete obedience to the Lord.
If the author sees this review, which I'm guessing is unlikely, I hope she knows that one can see her & her husband's pain through this book, & that she knows that complete strangers, even someone in California, on the other side of the world from her, is praying for continued peace & healing for her & her family, & for God's continued blessing in their lives. This is a small book with a powerful punch. I highly recommend this book to others.
