I had come to a point in my life when because of health issues, I was faced with a choice. A friend had heard Dave Rampsey promote this book and said maybe I should read it.
I read with an open-mind, meaning I was open to change and suggestions for a better career.
I have started a new career and will continue to review sections of the text that apply to this new venture.
Thanks for this great book and the new perspective used to approach changes in my life at a time when it was so desperately
needed.

The information contained in this book is VERY, VERY basic and can be found, free of charge, on most career sites. While the general principles of the book are intriguing, I was disappointed by the lack of depth or tips for practical application. This is nothing other than an advertisement to go to his web site and purchase additional materials, whose content I would have expected to be covered in the book. Save your money - don't buy it. I was completely disappointed.

This book does not work well on the nook. I had a lot of problems with it. Also, this is not a book to help you figure out what work you love to do.

A wonderful read if you're in high school or college, working or unemployed, young or senior. I have been a blue collar working for 21 years and have disliked my job for about 15 of those years, what wasted time. Dan Miller assured me that my life was just beginning and not ending. Even though I haven't left my present job, I have set out to pursue the career that I have dreamed of for many years. This book is a great resource to those searching for answers to their future, for that next step in life. I was also able to apply many of the principles to this difficult separation and hopefully not, divorce that I am facing. First I felt a lot of repetition was being used, but it only reinforced all the lessons that I needed to learn. My favorite two quotes are, 'Security is your ability to produce', and 'Choose a job you love, and you'll never work a day in your life'. Get the book and go for it! Your true dreams await you.

Wow, what a profound book. Everyone should read this before even thinking about a career. No wonder I keep reading about Dan Miller and 48 Days everywhere. I heard he was scheduled for The Today Show. Great news, as everyone needs to read this foundational perspective on what work can and should be, in regards to a fulfilling life. I only have to believe that the bad review by 'Jason' below was because he has something against Mr. Miller's religious references. But they are intererpersed with tons of other quotations too. And as for 'trying to sell his other products,' I found far less of that in this book than most any other business/work/career book on the market. I'll assume the guy just hates his work and needs to vent...

This book made me realize that you must do research and dedicate time to your job search. More importantly you have to do some serious soul searching and stop procrastinating. It's because of this book that I started doing volunteer work.

This book essentially turned out to be a hardcover advertisement to buy more of the author's material in order to 'really discover the work you love.' It eluded to proving helpful for a moment with discovering more about ones potential vocation, but then gave YET ANOTHER reference to his website where you could purchase the information for another $37.50. The minor amount of basic material is the same as can be found on most any career counseling website, but with constant advertisements for the author's other 7 streams of income along with gratuitous religious references to fill up space as well as repetition of the same information and quotes....it quickly becomes beyond annoying. I do not often rate books negatively however, save your money with this fluff. I recommend that you peruse it in the book store first and you will quickly find that it is a waste of time, money and effort.

There are so many books on money, success, etc...but nothing that addresses what 'work' is supposed to be, and gives guidance to making your work your passion. This book blew me away with Dan's revelation of truth about what is wrong with work and how to make it right. I think everyone going into the marketplace should read this book first.

As a matter of fact, this book should be required reading for ALL high school students. No one should be able to graduate unless you read this book. Dan Miller spells out how to get a job the right way.from finding the work you love.to secrets to getting an interview (and step one is NOT sending a cover letter and resume!).to the interview.and beyond. If you want to know HOW to really get the work (NOT the "job") you love, then read this book. I'm an entrepreneur and read this book because Dave Ramsey recommended it.and I learned so much. Do yourself a favor and read this book. It's straight forward and practical information that you can use TODAY!

This is a good book for people who are searching for their 'calling' or someone who is happy with what they are doing. It gives its reader a good perspective on everything from career to family.
