It is most useful to practitioners in family medicine, internal medicine, pediatrics and emergency physicians and any who encounter patients in acute athletic settings. Team physicians and team trainers may find the reference of most use, especially practitioners in training or new to sports medicine.
Features: Installation and set-up is straightforward and even novice PDA users will feel comfortable getting the program up and running. A wide breadth of topics is covered, ranging from acute fracture care to headache and nosebleeds. Only extremely uncommon or infrequent topics are not reviewed. The "find" function works very well and pull down menus add to the ease of navigation and allow for quick access to desired information. Multiple headings for each subject facilitate directed learning but also categorize information for more in-depth understanding. The information is presented in standardized format so learning to use the software is effortless. ICD-9 codes are given which makes clinical care more efficient. Handy references are included for each topic if further reading is desired.
Assessment: This software is extremely helpful in the clinical setting. It provides quick access to pertinent information and is easy to use. The headings allow rapid navigation to information for decision making during an office visit. Clinicians in training and primary caregivers will find this product particularly useful.
