Meet the Author

D. Claire Hutchins used to belong to the overwhelming majority of women who have difficulty achieving orgasm during sex. Now she reaches orgasm in five minutes every time she makes love, and it doesn't depend on the skills, timing and foreplay of the man's she's with. Foreword

It might have started with Clint Eastwood. There he was, slow-dancing with Meryl Streep in The Bridges of Madison County, looking deep into her eyes, even sharing a bubble bath. Women were convinced that if tough-guy Eastwood could make a lady's day with endless foreplay, then maybe her Dirty Harry could too.

As a writer who deals with men's health issues, I have attempted to understand how women define their roles in healthy sexual relationships. Sometimes it's not so easy. "It was the most romantic, careful, drawn-out sex I'd ever had," reads a highlighted confession in a top women's magazine. And in another, there's this recipe for the perfect romantic weekend: "Fill the house with flowers, dance together in front of a fire, kiss and cuddle -- but don't have sex until the end of the weekend."

Come on gals! Must great sex be preceded by a timeless tease?

Most expert advice in the field of male and female sexual compatibility is given to mood-setting and sensitivity. But this is contrary to nature. "Humans were designed for fast sex," says J. Dudley Chapman, M.D., Ph.D., a gynecologist and sex therapist for 25 years. "The animal kingdom wasn't used to wasting time. The more time you spent cohabiting, the more vulnerable you were to being consumed."

To take this evolutionary stuff a step further, you could argue that such a sexual waltz may even be detrimental to the species. Indeed, more men than ever are seeking professional help for performance anxieties and premature ejaculation problems. It seems men know how to have sex, but we aren't so sure about how to make love. And it's tearing many men apart.

"There's a lot of sexual anxiety in men," says Dr. Chapman. "Did I do right by her? Will she be mad at me afterward?" It's not that men are intimidated by romance. It's just that they're not sure how much, how far or even when.

Instead of putting the pressure on men to slow down their sexual response time, can women be taught to speed up?

It doesn't take much to convince men of the merit of "quickies," once considered the ultimate guy sex act. The tricky part is making the case to women, who may believe that endless foreplay is the only way they can reach climax. Now D. Claire Hutchins promises faster orgasms for women, thereby relieving men of the responsibility of bringing their partners to orgasm. Ms. Hutchins shows women that quickies can be therapeutic, in addition to just plain fun. They not only help men and women find time for the relaxing, rejuvenating flush of sex during a hectic day, but also take the pressure off men to always be the Clint Eastwood of her dreams.

It's all in your point of view

As a licensed sex therapist, I had read this book a couple of months ago, but wasn't too impressed. It wasn't 'scholarly' enough to impress me. Then one of my female patients told me how it had helped her relationship, and I took another look. What I missed before was the tone of the book, which is ideally suited for getting simple ideas across in a non-clinical way. It communicates to women like a friendly chat between friends. The approach is non-judgmental and supportive. If nothing's worked for your before, try this out. The formula in the book won't work for everyone, and not every couple will want to use it. But it's there if they choose. I believe Ms. Hutchins sincerely wants to help women, and has found a simple way to do it

    Improves Married Life

If, after years of being married, you are only 'sort' of happy with your sex life, buy this book and become VERY happy. We had settled for letting our sex life wane, because it's often just too time consuming. Now we can enjoy sex without it turning into a major romantic encounter that we don't have the time or energy to do anymore. Now that we've faced that reality, we can enjoy a 'quickie' now and then and not feel guilty about it.

5 Minutes to Orgasm: Every Time You Make Love

I was pleased to find this book. It's a fast paced, easy to read small volume packed with great information. The idea for the quick and easy orgasm is great. My boyfriend loves it too. He doesn't have to wait for me to orgasm any more. We are both freer and easier in our lovemaking sessions. What a relief not to have to work so hard at something that should be so much fun!

5 Minutes to Orgasm: Every Time You Make Love

This book deals with a specific problem that many women face, and for women who feel they must have oral sex or use a vibrator prior to the sex act or end up frustrated. The author gives a 'quick and easy formula' to guarantee orgasm success. This book is not about pleasing your mate, it's about learning how to enjoy yourself as much or more than your male partner during a 'quickie,' if that is what you both want and desire. The author wants women to take control of their sexual response and stop relying on their partners' skills to reach orgasm. Hutchins wants women to enjoy sex as much as men. I think her book accomplishes that and more.

    I Also Recommend:

Hard to believe it had such good ratings

Just a lot of Bla, bla, bla, bla.
Interesting to read the problems women have in achieving an orgasm. Sex, is 90% psychological and once you realize that the remaining 10% is a breeze.
There are no magic tricks in this book, and one would do better to search for couples topics. Sex is better managed with 2 people, and both partners MUST participate.
Going Down is a very good book and I recomend it for both genders.

    What a Rip-Off!

No wonder that this book is sealed in plastic - if anyone were to page through it they would never buy it. This book is 99% history on women's oppression and 1% method of faster orgasm. I am terribly disappointed!

    Not for everyone

Great book, but it's not for those who have problems with orgasm. Perfect for those who want some help with a faster better orgasm. This book can be a bit intimidating if you're not in that boat. But it has a lot of good info every woman should know.
