I was not in the AP Biology class but I happened to notice this

I was not in the AP Biology class but I happened to notice this book on the shelf in a thrift store. It happened to be only 97 cents so I bought it just to review for my STAAR test since I live in Texas. I only glanced through it every now and then but now I regret it. After I took the test I went home and looked though the book. There happened to be about fifteen questions that were very similar to the ones in the book. I regretted not reviewing more often but I passed the test anyway so :D

BEST STUDY BOOK YOU CAN BUY!

I am taking AP biology as an independent study, meaning that I am not in an actual biology class but instead take a lecture class in biology once a week on Sundays. This class has no assignments no tests and is only once a week. With this book however I drastically increased my score- in one week of learning since I procrastinated until the last three weeks until the May exam. I took the diagnostic test at the beginning and got a 2 on it. My college STUDENT teachers decided to give us a practice AP exam, so I used this book and went through EVERYTHING and I got a 5 on it! I even did so well on the multiple choice that even if I completely skipped the open response, I would still have a 4. This book is sooo helpful, especially more helpful than Cliffs, or Cracking the AP to someone who has three weeks to learn a years worth of biology. They even have a section called "Rapid Review" which is the most helpful thing on the planet, and really helped when I was in a crunch, One thing is that it doesn't go over open response questions as well as Cliffs does, and it only covers human physiology, not animal, which there is a lot of on the exam. My best reccomendation would be to first use this book for multiple choice, and then buy Cliffs for help with open response.

Great for review or along with textbook

great as a companion to campbell or another textbook. I wouldn't use it alone though

    Great!

My teacher recommended this book to our AP bio class and it is very helpful. The textbook is so detailed and a lot of times it is hard to get the big picture. I use it as a reference for the class but I know it is also helping me study for the AP test. This is defiantly the book to get!
