Overview

Now available in blue, Tamara Shopsin’s classic 5 Year Diary is back in stock. Designed by Shopsin--whose illustration work is regularly featured in The New York Times--and produced by The Ice Plant and Shopsin’s General Store, the pint-sized 5 Year Diary helps you keep track of the next 60 months of your life in just a few lines a day. Each page of the diary is devoted to one day of the year and subdivided into five sections (each with its own space for notes), so that, as time goes by, past entries can be read as the new ones are written. Handsomely clothbound with a red ribbon bookmark, the diary can be started on any day of any year--even a leap year. In the back of the diary are pages to record the books you’ve read and places you’ve traveled. As New York magazine’s Kendall Herbst noted, the 5 Year Diary is an ideal gift for anyone, anytime, as well as the perfect way to “trace your life’s highlights and trim out the minutiae… Think of it as a sort of CliffsNotes to your life."

Remember that teenage diary? This is not that but it is a great opportunity to (briefly) record the events that matter to you. The format of six lines per day per page with five years of the same day on each page allows you to compare what you're thinking, growing, spending, seeing . . . Nice little book fits in your night stand or suitcase.

I did not pay enough attention to the size and was disappointed in the product. Way to small for a desk journal.

Perfect design. Love that I can look back to past years and see what I was up to!

You should note the size, it is rather small, but when writing in it, you don't feel it. It's six lines a day which is perfect for writing exactly what you want to remember from the day. It's super easy to stay committed to because it takes less than three minutes a day to write in it. It also has a travelogue and a book log in the back for writing down where you went and what you read. It's exciting to go back and read what I've written and to help remember the little things. It's beautiful, great quality with a sturdy binding and nice thick pages. I absolutely love it and have recommended it to all of my friends.

This 5 Year Diary didn't meet my expectations when it came to size. But, then again its still very useful.

This lives up to write up. I have been using a 7in. by 9in journal, but journals with 365 pages are hard to find. This is about 3 1/2 by 6 3/8 and the lines are 3/16 of an inch apart. Could not find a description of size in any of the write ups.
