This is a great abridgment of New York Times best-selling author Karnazes's (Ultramarathon Man) 2008 Wellness Central title that chronicled the unbelievable North Face Endurance 50 of 2006, wherein 50 marathons take place in 50 different states on 50 consecutive days. "Karno," as the author calls himself, is a likable, enthusiastic reader with a naturally strong voice. Exercisers of all kinds, especially runners and ultradistance athletes, will enjoy this title immensely, particularly the running tips interspersed into the narrative and the additional information on PDF (e.g., on fuel and gear recommendations). Heartily recommended for health and wellness collections and for medium and large public libraries. [Includes a conversation with the author; audio clip available through
