    A Required Reference Book

I began to knit a baby blanket from a pattern in a book and realized that the stitch directions created a ripple that bore no resemblance to the blanket in the picture. So I bought this book, and now I create my own patterns. The book features many ripple styles: angular and curved, single and multi-color, bobble and lace. As an experienced knitter, I appreciate that the publisher respects me by presuming that I already know how to knit, so there are NO pages in the book taking up space teaching me how. (It's a personal gripe; I am annoyed to see 40 or so pages in so many books wasted on fluff because the publisher doesn't understand that people who buy these books already know how to knit.)
