The author has added 11 new hikes to reflect changing trail conditions, and has rehiked and checked each of the remaining hikes for this fourth edition. Author Biography: While teaching physics at Penn State University, Tom Thwaites was advisor to the Penn State Outing Club for 29 years, and during that time became an expert on the many footpaths in the Keystone State. A resident of State College, he is a member of the Keystone Trails Association and the Mid-State Trails Association and has personally scouted, blazed, and cleared many of the trails in this guide.
