Book excerpt:

She hurried out the college side door toward the parking lot. She caught her heel and stumbled, and strong arms caught her.

"Careful or I'll have to get out the band-aids," a man's voice said.

Gilly glanced up and gasped at the sight of Dr. Steele's sharp blue eyes.

"Oh! Hi!" she said. "Thanks."

"My pleasure. I always love a damsel in distress."

She bit her lip, suddenly uncomfortable. "Are you here to meet someone?"

"Yes."

"Oh, good, well, I should get going. I have a meeting. It was nice to see you again!"

He turned and walked with her. There was a dangerous look in his smile that made her want to run.

"I hope you can postpone that meeting," he said.

Her voice caught. A nervous feeling tugged at her stomach. "Why?"

His body was close to hers as they walked, and he smelled faintly of expensive soap. "I'm here to meet you."

"Me? No. I mean, I can't postpone it! I really have to go."

"And I really have to talk to you." He took her elbow. "There's my car," he said, pointing at a red Ferrari. His fingers tightened. "Shall we?"

"I'm going to scream," she whispered.

"I don't think that would be wise."

"Why not?"

"Your step-mother is a dear friend of mine. You do know that, don't you? We went to school together."

"So?"

Students were flowing all around them now, heading for cars. A few people shot the two of them curious glances. One girl actually looked jealous, the way she sized up Dr. Steele and then flicked her eyes to Gilly.

I'm a prisoner! Gilly wanted to shout.

    Forbidden. Loved it.

Talk about forbidden... my heart was racing the whole time. This story was really good. I loved the doctor, he's amazing.

    spoiler alert*******
I felt like he's like a misunderstood Robin Hood, even though he blackmails her. I soo wanted her to run after him in the end. In my mind, she does...
