It’s hard work being a liberal these days. Not only do a mere 20 percent of Americans identify themselves as liberal, but one could go broke supporting a skinny double-decaf Starbucks habit. On top of that, when you hate things most Americans love, it’s tiring to have to endlessly correct/educate/fix/enlighten the poor dullards out there who just want to enjoy their lives. Which, taken as a whole, makes the average liberal lonely, short on cash, and mad as hell! So, in the spirit of the compassion they themselves espouse, 50 Things Liberals Love to Hate is truth spoken with love, an invitation to the disenfranchised: it’s not too late, liberals, to join the fun! This book was a great read. Mr. Gallagher is witty, perceptive, and incisive. It's too bad that the GOP didn't pick someone of Mr. Gallagher's intelligence and character to juxtapose against the idiot currently occupying the White House. Let it be stated in the history books that Mitt Romney lost the election more so than Barack Hussein Obama won it.

I read this mind-less rant and feel like I wasted my time. He compares his observations to Jane Goodall! This guy is just the “simplest” chimp in the room! I would call myself a middle of the road republican. I do agree with some of Gallagher’s philosophies and listen to him on the radio from time to time. This book is made up of gross exaggerations and simple-minded stereotypes, and frankly is not that “witty”. If you classify yourself as a radical conservative maybe you can laugh with this guy, but I didn’t even laugh at him. I just didn’t laugh at all. This guy has not mastered the subtleties of writing sarcasm. #34 of 50 on girls was just plain rude and crude. My advice… DON’T WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY… not amusing, not informative, just one man’s mind-less ramblings that attempts and fails to be amusing.

The subject matter of each chapter brings a lot of things to the forefront. Unwarrented complaints about McDonalds, learning about John Wayne are important. We need more truth and less Political BS or just distortions of truth.

i happen to agree with some of what gallagher has to say, especially
about capitalism and earning your keep in life. however, i find his
remarks about women's choices pertaining to abortion and entering the
military revolting. not all women are born with the mothering and
nurturing instinct. that doesn't make you good or bad. he's as limiting
as the liberals he's protesting about. also, i find it deplorable that
he feels gay men should start their own boy scouts group. is he implying
that "morally straight" means that gay men are immoral? sounds
pretty narrow minded to me.
