Handy book to look up area hikes

I am new to the hiking world. My husband and I like to take 3-6 mile hikes together. We usually need to stay within 20 miles from our home. this book, 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles, has been a great tool for our hikes. We look up the area where we want to hike on the large map. Then we find the listing of all the hikes in that area. It also provides a map of each hike. The best part is the descriptions of the hikes. It helps us really decide which hike we want for that day. And it gives us landmarks and things to look for on the hike. We highly recommend this book for folks in Southern California.

    Detailed, Written Nice

McGregor did a nice job of making the trail spots come to life. A lot of interesting and colorful details about plants and wildlife, and easy to follow maps and directions. This is better than other guidebooks for San Diego hiking. Nice to learn where to look for things out on trails. A take-along for hikers.
