Overview

ulia Taylor works as a recruitment consultant for Paranormal Personnel in London. Her normal day at the office consists of seeing clients, searching for new vacancies, updating CVs and visiting employers.

It seems as though she has an ordinary life but in reality Julia is half elf and she works for a recruitment agency for paranormals.

She is normally calm, confident and is not afraid to stand up for herself, but when the meeting with La Caz Corporation doesn’t go as well as she hoped, she wants to bury herself under the ground and die.

Nathaniel La Caz is a player and he wants to seduce Julia. The incredible sexual chemistry that builds up between them complicates her life to the point where she can’t control her magic. La Caz not only wants her but he also has a craving for her blood. Then her ex-boyfriend Jasper comes back on the scene and nearly exposes the whole paranormal world to humans when trying to protect her.

It doesn't end well when vampires and elves mix. The problems start escalating when Julia witnesses the kidnapping of her cousin Claudia on the busy street. From then on things only go from bad to worst. More elves and fairies begin to vanish in London without trace and the police suspect vampires. Julia is determined to find Claudia even if it means she will get herself into more trouble.

    Very bad writing

I tried to read this. However, it was never ever proof read. It appears the author thinks that spell check is the same as proof reading. A lot of it makes no sense because words are left out or the incorrect word is in the wrong place.

It just was not worth the effort to translate what was being said into english.

The writing was tolerable, but it was basically a more supernatural version of Twilight, complete with irresistible attraction, overprotective males, and blood that smells so nice. My main two problems with this book is that Julia goes against the advice of her friends and family - not to mention HERSELF - and chooses to get involved with La Caz, without ever really explaining or working through why her (very valid) concerns no longer apply. My second problem is that this was startlingly close to rape. A female whose smell is so alluring that all vampires can't seem to control themselves. She was threatened several times and she just brushes it off. And when she was actually raped - both literally and by a vampire biting her - she basically ignores it.
And lastly, THIS WAS A FRIKKIN DLIFF HANGER
(...After he breaks up with her to keep her safe. Sound like another noble vampire we all know?)

This is unique paranormal story. Think of Harry Potter's world but all adult and grown up. Magical creatures working side by side with humans and all... with a twist. Vampires are a normal occurrence and now have the option to take a new medicine that helps them control their thirst.

Elves and vampires do not go well together. The scent of an elf is so intoxicating to a vampire, that self control is almost impossible. Our main character Julia is half elf and half human, but her essence still attracts one of the most attractive, single, and notable womanizers of all - Nathaniel La Caz. He is half vampire and half human and has never had a girlfriend. Women to him are only good for a one night stand. Meeting Julia immediately starts the attraction both ways and these two you know will not be able to keep their hands away from each other.

I was very impressed with the twists and turns in the plot line. We have not only this forbidden love affair, but we also have the mystery kidnappings, the cast of magical characters that intersect with our two lovers to be, and the suspense of will Julia be able to survive all the dangers that surround her.

Although I normally do not read paranormal novels, I am eagerly awaiting the next installment of this story. I am dying to know what happens next!

    Good Story!

I read some of the other reviews and don't really understand why they haven't rated this book higher. I thought it was very good and held my interest! Love the theory and even bought the next one in the series. The only complaint I had is how it leaves you hanging, you really have to go on to the next book, at least I did! Give this one a try, it was well worth your time!

    Needs editing

Another reviewer mentioned spellcheck, but I don't think even that was used. Couldn't get past page 25.
