This is one of my all time favorite books. I re-read it almost every summer. You definately will not forget this book.

i honestly really didnt like this book. the author seems to be trying very hard to make the characters have diffrent personallitys and traits and it was annoying to read because of it. i think the whole idea of 7 teenagers stuck on a boat is very good, but the author didnt do anything interesting with it. once something happened, it was done, never mentioned again. something big and importent like watching a ship they explored sink before there eyes, happened, and then, not another thing was said, it was over, i found that strange. but over all it was a ok book . . . .

Honestly 68 Knots is about the worst book I've ever read. The way the story is written is very amateurish and the author tries MUCH too hard to make the characters diverse. The characters are one-sided and not interesting enough to actually connect to the reader. And frankly, they're quite annoying. There's no suspense in the novel, even though the author makes an "effort" to make the story interesting. I expected a little more from so-called "Michael Robert Evans: award-winning associate professor of journalism at Indiana University" Blah, blah blah. If you like sailing, fine, you might like the book. But if you're looking to read a good story, don't waste your time with 68 Knots.

It was very entertaining and had me hooked the whole way through. Even through I don't think it is real or could happen it is very interesting to read and see what happens to all of them. I really couldn't put this book down. This book is very worth getting.

Think Lord of The Flies without all the tragedy. This book is fun, emotional, suspensful, funny. Worth every penny. I made my boyfriend read it when I was done. He loved it too.

But when the camp owner commits suicide just a few days into the cruise, rather than go back home, the teens decide to take charge of the ship themselves. They tie knots into a piece of rope, one knot for each day of summer remaining, and then set off to enjoy their 68 days of freedom. <BR/><BR/>The journey is not always easy, and they face many challenges along the way - including struggles for leadership, failed romances, storms, desertions, damages to the ship, and diminishing food supplies. But it's not all difficult, and they manage to have several fun adventures as well, such as trying to rescue a whale, searching for buried treasure, raiding yachts, racing other boats, and going hunting for seals. <BR/><BR/>The teens may not have had the summer experience they were expecting, but they are all undoubtedly changed by their time aboard the Dreadnought, as new friendships and relationships are formed, and they all begin to question their own futures. <BR/><BR/>68 KNOTS is a very fun read, and I really enjoyed it. The characters are interesting and diverse (although a couple of them have rather annoying habits), and the book is full of great details about sailing a ship. Even though the crew of the Dreadnought gets into some pretty sticky situations, anyone who reads this is bound to want to go out and experience the same summer at sea as these kids - I know I do!
