This is a great book and resource for any kitchen. As parents of two active children, my husband & I know how challenging it can be to come home after work and get dinner on the table before heading off to a game or practice. But, as Registered Dietitians, we know how very important it is to sit down as a family to a healthy, wholesome dinner each night. Susan Nicholson makes this easy for families who are faced with this very same dilemma--preparing healthy, budget-conscious meals in a timely manner. She makes the task of wondering what to serve the family for dinner easy. The key to doing this, of course, is preparation. Susan not only plans your meals week by week for an entire year, but she also guides you on how to do this yourself and develop your own menus. The menus and recipes are planned based on the time of the year, taking fresh ingredients, holidays and ingredient availability into consideration. As a registered dietitian I am always looking for great resources to pass onto my clients. 7-Day Menu Planner is a great book to read if you want to lay down a good foundation for healthy eating. Eating home cooked meals does not have to be a chore that takes hours. This book breaks down menu planning and healthy eating in an easy to understand manner. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner or a pro in the kitchen, everyone will learn something. As a cooking enthusiast I am always on the lookout for menus and recipes. Susan Nicholson includes 52 weeks of menus with different themes for different nights. This has simplified my shopping trips and shortened cooking times in my household. I would recommend 7-Day Menu Planner no matter what your skill level or health goals. It is a good read for all.

As a dietitian I am always on the lookout for great, healthy cookbooks for families. This book fits the bill perfectly. The book is filled with helpful tips on how to give your family healthy meals that are easy to make and won't break the bank. I have tried a few of the recipes and must say they do not disappoint. This book is a must have for every mom who is looking for healthy, quick and affordable meals. I will recommend it to all my clients.

I am a registered Dietitian and certified Personal Tariner and have been in the health and wellness field for over 15 years. I am always on the lookout for simple and easy tools to recommednd to my clients. I have stumbled across a winner with Susan Nicholson's book "7-Day Menu Planner For Dummies." It is an easy read packed full of great recipes and simple to follow ideas. I would recommend this book to my clients if they are looking for some simple self starters with meal/menu planning. I would also recommmend this book for someone looking for healthy, easy, and tasty recipes. It's a must have for a professional and for everyone!

This book is entertaining and delightful to read all while providing practical, very useful menu planning tips. Registered Dietitian Susan Nicholson discusses the benefits of taking just a little time out of your busy schedule to plan meals. She makes the art of menu planning fun by including "theme nights" and offers quick, tasty, creative ways to use leftovers. Susan touches on grocery shopping, including budget friendly tips, and provides ideas on keeping a well-stocked, organized pantry and refrigerator/freezer. Susan provides 52 weeks' worth of dinner menus (including holidays) that include a variety of delicious recipes using common ingredients that can be found at the local grocery store. She has put a great deal of thought into the menu planning portion of the book by organizing the menus by season so that the reader can take advantage of seasonal foods that are available (which means lower cost and higher quality). Besides the 365 nights of meals, she also provides key steps to planning your own meals. The book is a must read for anyone who regularly approaches dinnertime without a plan and wonders, "What's for dinner?". It provides excellent tips and ideas of ways for you and your family to become savvy, lifelong "menu planners." As a fellow registered dietitian, I will be recommending this book as a resource to my clients who need assistance with menu planning.

I highly recommend 7-Day Menu Planner for Dummies by Susan Nicholson RD, LD for anyone who would like to lead a healthy lifestyle to promote longevity. Susan is a Registered Dietitian and a gifted writer with a sense of humor. What I like about this book is the way Susan teaches the reader about healthy foods, Nutrition Facts label, portion sizes, the art of preparing wholesome meals and how to incorporate healthy cookery and smart healthful food choices into the reader's lifestyle. Additionally, I like how Susan provides quick and healthy recipes and includes nutrition facts for each recipe, making it easier for the reader to adhere to healthy eating routine everyday. She also provides 52 weeks of menus (a year's worth!) for the reader. This book also covers money - saving ideas, time - planning suggestions and plenty of valuable nutrition information that can help to manage and prevent health issues, such as high blood pressure, diabetes and heart disease. This book would be a great companion for an individual who is committed to healthy eating and vigorous lifestyle. Reaching general audience with hands-on step by step guide on meal preparation is a worthy cause considering the ongoing issues with overweight/obesity among people of all ages.
