This book is an interesting way to start the day. Each date throughout the year has two math problems for students to work on in order to figure out the (famous) year involved. For example, if the desired answer is '1849' the 'clues' might be, 'My tens and units number is divisible by 7.' 'If you add the first two digits, you will equal the units digit.' 'The sum of all the digits will be 22.' The year itself is tied to a famous, or not so famous, historical event, so the students are also getting a dose of social studies. The only reason I didn't give it an unqualified five stars is because of the price. I think it is overpriced. Prospective buyers should try to find it used. Was this review helpful?
