Jane Austen's complete novels, collected together in one uniquely comprehensive volume. Comprises the complete text of: "Sense and Sensibility", "Pride and Prejudice", "Mansfield Park", "Emma", "Northanger Abbey", "Persuasion", "Lady Susan", and "Love and Friendship". This is the only single-volume edition of Jane Austen's novels to contain not only the wickedly humorous "Lady Susan", but also the irrepressibly exuberant early work "Love and Friendship".

This collection allows readers to explore the development of one of the English language's greatest writers, following her development from the farcical comedy of "Love and Friendship" and "Northanger Abbey", via her most popular work, "Pride and Prejudice", to the masterpiece "Emma", and the considered romance of "Persuasion". A unique collection of the finest and most perceptive love stories ever written.

I do love Jane Austen books. That is why I bought the 8 in 1. Unforntunately the publisher needs to have his head examined! Bet he didn't read it himself after it was bound. The binding on this book is sooo tight that it's hard to read. The print is small and they've used every inch for text (including alongside the header and footer). I have even tried breaking the binding so that I could read the inside columns easier. It really is sad to have such good literature bound in such a crummy way. Guess I get what I paid for.

It's wonderful to have all of these books within one book, but the print is very small. I find that it is hard to stay focused because I often feel like I'm reading a text book. The stories, however, are absolutely wonderful. Jane Austen can write a novel like no other!

The book is a brilliant collection of Jane Austen's finest works. This book in comparison to buying each book seperately would save you approximately $48. However, I must also mention that the binding of the book is a bit hectic. The pages are divided into two columns and the words descend far in to the spine. Also, it has smaller print, so if you have bad eye sight this book might be more difficult to read. Plus, the book also has height of 9.5 in., a length of 7.5 in., and a width of 1.5 in; so, this book would not neccessarily be the best travel book. The collection of stories, however, is an brilliant example of some the best love stories ever written.

Without question, Jane Austen tops the list of all-time great romance novelists, and to have eight of her greatest works compiled into one hardbound book is fantastic! Granted, the type is small, and the double columns give it the look of a textbook, but then most of us read Jane Austen for the first time in school. Personally, I love both the convenience and the cost savings of having all eight stories in one book.

I got rid of this edition and ordered the books individually. The print was too small to be an enjoyable read. I highly recommend Jane Austen's novels!
