'Tis the Season to Be Naughty

Connor McClain knows what he wants. And after four harrowing years in Afghanistan, that's a quiet life in the lakeside town of Evergreen Cove. With a cheating ex behind her, all Faith wants is a relaxing holiday free from man drama. And even though every moment with gorgeous Connor is a sweet temptation, Faith is determined not to give in. But Jack Frost has other plans, and soon Faith and Connor are snowbound in a winter wonderland with only the sparks flying between them to keep them warm. As one hot kiss leads to another, they'll have to decide if they're ready to give each other the best gift of all-love."

Lemmon’s sexy and well-constructed third Second Chance romance (after Rescuing the Bad Boy), set in the small town of Evergreen Cove, Ohio, uses a nice reversal: the man (who is not at all a bad boy) wants marriage and the woman is commitment-shy. Faith Garrett swore off romance after her fiancé cheated on her. So no matter how attractive Conner McClain is, she insists that they limit themselves to flirting. But as Christmas moves closer, she’s drawn to the scarred military veteran, who has relationship demons of his own. Their interplay works well, as jokes lead to kisses and then to sex scenes that are steamy but not raunchy. Though the Christmas theme takes a little while to show up, it plays an important role, and the story peaks with a dramatic snowed-in Christmas encounter. Likable and realistic characters with believable emotions, and the right balance of fantasy fulfillment, make for some good holiday heat. Agent: Nicole Resciniti, Seymour Agency. (Oct.)

All of us secretely dream of having our very own bad bay, and Jessica has delivered us the perfect gift in time for the holidays with A Bad Boy for Christmas. Now, if you haven't read any of her books from the Bad Boys series, you seriously need to get out from under a rock and go and but these immediately. I mean, come one, they are freaking awesome and full of gorgeous, mouth watering alpha males!! In this installment, we finally get Connor and Faith's story. I was so excited that we finally get Conner and Faith's story! It was everything I loved in a romance and more. After getting her heart broken by her cheating ex fiance Faith has decided to take breather from men even if secretly she is drooling over the handsome Conner. After a scary break in Faith finds herself glued to Conner's side. He refuses to let Faith out of his sight until he is sure she is 100% safe and out of harms way. Not only is the chemistry between these two off the charts but Conner's protective nature towards Faith will just melt your heart. I have had a thing for Conner since he was first introduced in the first installment in this series. This fun loving, funny and handsome man is just about perfect and the love he has for Faith is beautiful. If you have been reading the series then you will be happy to know that all of our other favorite couples are also included in this book! I received an eARC of this book compliments of the publisher in exchange for my honest review and opinion. All ratings and opinion stated are my own.

Jessica Lemmon does it again. Don't know how but her books just get better and better. Connor and Faith are kindered souls in my opinion. Both were cheated on and left heartbroken and with severly bruised souls. No wonder the chemistry between these two is phenomenal. And the nicknames they have for each other, Cupcake and Beefcake awesome. Connor has just cracked my top 3 heroes. He falls hard for Faith but doesn't want to push her because of her past. But he can't hold back his feeling for her when they get snowed in for Christmas. But will she also let her guard down. Faith is trying to find her independence and when she fears someone is trying to break into her house Connor comes to the rescue. After the threat is gone he insists on his protection of her. Making her fall for him but afraid to admit it. He even cuts down a Christmas tree in a blizzard while they're are snowed in. Now that's love. Not to give it all away for those who haven't read it, they do get their happily ever after. But again with all Jessica's book her characters are so realistic and the banter is always fun. And let's not forget how sexy the sex scenes are.

Book 3 in the series and with each book I am drawn to Evergreen Cove. I loved Connor and Faith and their families. This book has humor, times that tug at your heart, and some wonderful romance. I really like how with each book Jessica brings back the characters from the other books and draws you more into the friendship they share and the struggles they have faced. Can't wait for the next book.

I enjoy this series and this installment didn't let me down. A lot of emotions, ups and owns. Occasionally, you just want to shake Faith, but lucky for her Connor hangs tight. It was a good read.

4.5 Stars Reviewed by Angela and posted at Under The Covers Book Blog After a big disappointment from the last book in this series, I was a bit worried about this installment. I wasn’t sure if this series had caught my attention with the first book and stopped there. I’m happy to tell you that that is not the case. A Bad Boy for Christmas is an entertaining holiday read, and Ms. Lemmon did not disappoint. Connor is in town after spending some time in the military. While visiting his friend Donovan, he meets Faith, who automatically catches his attention. They quickly become friends and fall in love but because of their jaded pasts, they both have reservations that will prevent any kind of commitment. I love Connor and Faith story. It’s a story about two people finding love after their hearts have been broken, a second chance if you will. The journey to their happy-ending was a bit complicated. It was full of fear and doubt that I couldn’t blame them for. They also had to deal with Connor’s military background and the Shelby’s so-called family curse. As I said, they had a lot going against them but it was obvious that they wanted to try. Their story is not all about their fears and reservations. Their courtship was adorable. The banters were hilarious, and the flirting and even the use of pet names were uber sweet. The holiday theme was added in a subtle way making it a great read to ease us into the holiday spirit. There were plenty of page times for the other-other characters, and that’s always a treat for me. There has also been some development in the Asher-Glo department, and it’s a doozy. We get plenty of Asher and Glo page time in this novel. Let me tell you, you will feel so bad for them both as their world is about to collapse on them. I can feel an ugly cry kind of story brewing there.

Faith and Connor are friends, they sometimes work near each other, and they both have the hots for each other. But Faith is a little gun shy after having her ex-fiance cheat on her, and Connor just doesn't seem to know what he wants. The setting for this is amazing - I loved the mansion and the little cottage that gets brought in later. They were just so well described and sounded beautiful. The story gets off to a great start with a bit of suspense in the form of a possible bungled burglary. This paves the way for Connor to come to the rescue and play good guy, watching over Faith until they figure out what is going on. Of course, there was some random hot cop thrown in here that I didn't really understand the purpose of. He just seemed like a reason for Connor to get all possessive - which really didn't appeal. Unfortunately, the burglary is solved very early and suddenly the couple is in some weird state of limbo. A chunk of the middle section just didn't seem to fit at all, or perhaps it could have been shortened and not so drawn out at least. Now, once we get them stuck in the cabin things get moving again. A decent story, but that middle part was just too drawn out. I didn't see a reason for it other than to add to the page count. *This book was received in exchange for an honest review*

A Bad Boy For Christmas is the third in Jessica Lemon’s second chance series. I was immediately drawn into the world Lemon created, even though I haven’t read the first two in the series. Clearly there is history among all the main characters, but it wasn’t so overpowering that a new reader couldn’t dive right in. The love story between Faith and Conner is gradual. Two very broken people are drawn to each other, but need time to exorcise their demons. The slow burn is definitely worth it, making the HEA much sweeter. After reading this one I will definitely go back and pick up the previous two in the series. If you are looking for a feel-good Christmas story this is a great choice. I loved this Christmas story! It's my favorite book in the author's 'Second Chance' series...so far. It can be read as a stand alone, but the whole series is wonderful.

I finished this book last night and didn't feel I could write the review till this morning because I'm still in withdrawal. I just love Connor and Faith. Jessica never fails to take me right into the story...I just hate it when I have to leave....please hurry Jessica with Asher and Gloria's book. I know I have to find something else to read today....or I could just re-read this book...sounds like a plan to me..

Ahhh Connor..anyone who has read this series at all or this book for that matter would realize that statement is enough to finish a whole review!! Jessica Lemmon has definitely become a go to author for me. No waiting always pre-ordering this wonderful author's books. Connor... I have been waiting or his book for a while. I love Faith's nickname for him "beefcake" it's so true. Connor seems in the other books like a quiet, thoughtful, and steady kind of guy. He of course has a relationship past that includes being cheated on and obviously lied to. That means he understands where Faith is coming from since she has recently also been cheated on. Connor ran from his broken heart by serving his country and not looking back. He came home a couple years ago to put down roots. However he's coming to the realization that he hasn't exactly given in to not running again. (ie. all of his things are still in boxes) He would like to get to know Faith a little better but she has her defenses up because of her previous relationship. If anything would've broken down my defenses the chopping down of a Christmas tree in the middle of a blizzard would've done it. My heart melted when he did that. *swoon* That was such a great romantic gesture!! By the description Jessica Lemmon gives of Faith any living or breathing female within a hundred miles would be jealous of her wonderful good looks. However she doesn't have a catty bone in her body and is completely down to earth. She is oblivious to how attractive she actually is. I love, love, love the nickname cupcake that Connor gave her. I know it has to do with her love of sweets and maybe the fact that he caught her devouring a box of them once. Still it is the perfect nickname for her. Faith is trying to go it on her own and be independent. She was in a not so great relationship, then she moved in with her mom; her mom who says all the women in her family are cursed. The women in her family can't be married or fail at marriage. Faith's inner struggle with her "relationship" with Connor was so gut wrenching for me. I kept telling her don't over think it, just go with the flow. (yes I talk to my books) Of course she fights the flow of the relationship tooth and nail. These bad boy books by Jessica Lemmon are must haves for me. I would highly recommend them for anyone. This author does such a good mix of chemistry and character growth. The stories just seem to flow so well, once you start reading them you don't want to put them down. There was a scene in the book after Connor realizes Faith is in danger from someone they don't know. He asks what kind of car the person drives and the response from her was exactly how I would've answered my husband. She said the guy drove a blue car. That's it. A blue car. When Connor asked what kind of car she'd said, "I don't know. The kind with doors. And wheels." When he sarcastically asked if it had a windshield she'd replied, straight-faced, "Front and back." I would suggest starting this books with the first one in the series. However they could probably also be read as stand alone.

Connor McClain is working on fine tuning everything in his life since returning home from Afghanistan, and making a great attempt to readjust to civilian life again. He has started a landscaping business, and with the help of his friends his business becoming very successful in Evergreen Cove. For him, the idea of helping seeds grow into living plants is quite soothing and helps to bring him the peace and tranquility he so desperately needs. Connor has also taken an interest in his friend Faith Garrett, working along side of her for the past few months has been torture for him, mainly because she was taken, but now that she has sent her cheating ex-fiance packing, things are certainly starting to look up...now he just has to convince her that he's worth the risk. Faith Garrett has had it with men, after finding out her fiance was cheating on her she decides it's time to swear off relationships completely. She wants to be single and independent, and the only fun she plans on having with the opposite sex is the "no strings attached" kind. However, seeing a certain handsome landscaper day after day has made this new plan of hers a little harder to follow, he is oh so tempting, and when he insists on being her personal bodyguard and help protect her from the person trying to break into her home, she figures what can it hurt... This book captured my attention right from the start and had me burning right through the pages, I was so addicted to the story that I ended up devouring it in a matter of hours. I thoroughly enjoy reading stories about bad boys equipped with alpha male attitudes, and I have to say Connor has earned himself a spot on my list of favorites! Ms. Lemmon does not disappoint with this one, Connor had me smiling and swooning the whole way through!! I think everyone should add this Bad Boy to their Christmas Wish List... he'll DEFINITELY be the best gift you've ever received from Santa! This delightful holiday romance (which despite its Christmas theme is definitely worth reading any time of the year) is the story of Connor and Faith. Connor is a rock steady kind of guy, a friendly, strong, handsome man, one who is loyal and trustworthy. He comes from a tight knit family, evidenced by his interactions with them as important secondary characters in the story in several family scenes. I loved seeing them together and their obvious care and affection for one another. His loyalty in particular to his fellow soldier Jonas who saved his life on a mission that went horribly wrong is not something up for debate - he treats his visits with him as a necessary part of his routine. He has the occasional bout of sleeplessness and nightmares, but he's trying to put these things into perspective. He still hasn't quite come to terms with what his future will hold though, as evidenced by his decidedly stark and lonely apartment, with still unpacked boxes from the past two years indicating that mentally he is in limbo and held tight by the grief of his experiences. Good friend that he is though, he doesn't hesitate to jump in and help Faith when he suspects she might be in danger (there's that loyalty again) and having the chance to finally act on his attraction to her means he's at last going to get her into his bed. But what a sweet and sexy place to be! Connor is a caring and considerate lover and takes great pains to make sure that Faith won't regret her decision to sleep with him, even as he starts to realize that his feelings for her are more than just skin deep. Faith comes across as a friendly, delightful woman, with a bit of sass wrapped up in her common sense demeanor. She has the opposite experience of family that Connor has, her author mother having moved through a string of younger men, giving Faith a very nontraditional upbringing with none of the trappings of family holidays and closeness that she desired as a child, and even now covets as an adult. Add to that a cheating ex-boyfriend, one she is horrified to realize she might have married just because it was the pertinent thing to do if she hadn't caught him in flagrante, and you've got a woman who is determined to keep her emotions under wraps, at least where men are concerned. With her girlfriends she can be a bit more free to talk about her feelings, but even then she doesn't always reveal her deepest desires. When Connor jumps to her rescue and then into her bed, being invited by him to his family thanksgiving is something that means more to her than the average woman. For her, a loving and steady home life is the key to a happy future, though she knows it will be a while before she's ready to take steps in that direction. Faith and Connor definitely share a sexual chemistry that transcends the pages, and makes for several steamy and emotional love scenes. As they become more deeply entwined emotionally, Connor realizes that the future he's looking for is staring him in the face, and he wants Faith to see it too. Thus comes the source of their conflict as Faith must struggle with her own feelings of trust and her desire to keep herself from being hurt again. I can say that there were a few scenes that made me a bit teary eyed as they were working through these issues, and as some emotional events occur in the lives of their friends. Happily of course we get a very satisfactory ending to their story and some hints as to what's next to come in the series.

Connor and Faith had a number of strikes against them. Connor is dealing with the aftermath of returning home after years in the service. Faith is reeling from a bad breakup. The one thing Connor has learned from enduring four years in a war zone fighting for his life, is that life is short. So nothing is going to stop him from getting what he wants. I liked Connor, he has a take charge personality but a fragile heart. Faith was more of a lost soul that needed to find its way. Jessica Lemmon has written the most wonderful holiday story. A Bad Boy for Christmas is about appreciating what's important and not sweating the little things. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
