Overview

Samantha Rialto learned everything she knows about surveillance photography from Skipper Turnbuckle, a private eye with a bum reputation. Since last month’s job they haven’t spoken. But a bomb, a shooting and a voice-mail have her seeking the old investigator out…and wishing she hadn't.

Samantha is on leave from her job as a music teacher and trying very hard not to let motivating, positive suggestions from her mother and best friend, Maxie, cheer her up. She hasn’t spoken to her almost boyfriend, Detective Ben Parker, in two weeks and the only good news she’s had is that January is finally over. But when her neighbor’s house is blown to bits, Sam is forced to bunk with Maxie. And when, later that night, a man is shot in Maxie’s front yard, and a disturbing voice-mail implicates Sam’s old mentor, the past dances its way into Sam’s present again. Ben and Sam, once again, find themselves in a race against time, facing off against a suspicious FBI agent and tracking down a host of possible suspects, including a high profile senator, an angry giant, and a scientist who may or may not be dead.

    Amazing - Great Story

I loved the characters and the plot. In our technology based society the plot seemed very plausible. Kudos to Evan Katy. I can't wait for the next book!

    Highly Recommended

This is the second book I've read by Evan Katy and hope to read more. She's humoruous and keeps the action coming with the right amount of romance.

    HIghly recommend

If you enjoy reading Jane Evanovich type books, you will love this one. A middle school music teacher decides to do private detective work to supplement her income and it leads her to many hilarious as well as dangerous adventures. I could not set the book down and can't wait for her others.

    great book !

Very entertaining ! Love that Sam says everything she thinks, without knowing it. Skipper Is an interesting character added to an already outstanding cast. The ending was how i feared it would turn out, but it leaves open some interesting possible developments for the next book, which i can't wait to read.

Can't go wrong with Evan Katy

If you haven't read Evan Katy, what a treat you have in store. Start off with her January Kills Me, you won't regret it.

    Enjoyable, fun read

This was a great follow up to January Kills Me. I really enjoy the characters and also the thread woven through the two stories about Sam and Ben. There must be many more books coming (yippie!!) because the relationship is still in the early stages. Both books are great adventures and I really can't wait to read more in this series.

    Great Sequel!

This is a great follow up to January Kills Me! Samantha is depressed following the events of the past month and has isolated herself from everyone in her life. Her best friend, Maxie, has had enough and takes action to get her out of her doldrums, which ends up saving her from further trauma, but making her homeless and carless. Her relationship with Ben is put on hold, when Maxie reports seeing him out with another woman, but her attraction remains, as does the sexual tension that arises whenever they are together. The entrance of the new character, Skipper Turnbuckle, creates a lot of the laugh-out-loud humor that ensues as they work to solve the murder of Maxie's boyfriend and to find the people behind the bomb. The characters in this book are well developed. I especially like Samantha's parents and Maxie's fiesty grandmother. I will definitely read A Violet March to see what happens next!

    Very entertaining, lots of action!

I love a story that has humor, action, suspense and really likeable characters - this one has it all. The main character is very human, I especially appreciate that she can't help herself when it comes to expressing her thoughts, they just tumble out instead of festering in her head. Her friends and family come across as real people, I highly recommend this one and the one before it! I hope there are more to come and soon!

Really Enjoyable! Loved the characters, they were three dimens

    Really Enjoyable!

Loved the characters, they were three dimensional and fun; Samantha’s running internal commentary was priceless. I loved the first book January Kills Me, too. However. It’s already April; where’s March?? Buy these books. Really. Dalice Peterson

Too much falling down, flubbing up, and crisis living

It was fun for half of book one. Middle of book two and i want to scream....enough. where do these women come from. I sure dont know any. Stories save the cast of characters.
